TX500 build

cool concept! but i have no way of getting that much pressure... my power washer is industrial with an 8 HP motor and it would still not do that... i would do heating and wedge forming if i was you... much easier.... I just got an email from a chopper buddy, he told me to pack with sand and bend away, smooth clean bends no problem, plus that way i do ot have to wait for the ice to harden to make additional bends... i am going to try it... need to get some $$$ to buy some pipe

You would have to purchase a high presure hand pump with high presure hose. I dont think it would be too expensive I'll have to look into it a it more. I have to find that link. It's on a vintage racing site.

tired... did alot... will explain tomorrow and i will then upload the rest of the pics... rear sets are on... was able to match brass with mixing powders... check it
ill post the rest in the morning
not spot on.. but close

ok... got a few hours of sleep, ready to roll! here is what i did last night... I was able to get the rear sets assembled... they are officaly on the bike, (the nuts need to be replaced and i am having trouble finding the metric 10x1 nuts) but they look KILLER!!!!!
I was able to powder the brackets for the rear turns as well, polished the bolts those are on, i also used a translucent gold and "watered it down" a bit with some clear in hopes that it would get more of a dull brass look... WORKED, well close enough workd... so i did the kicker and the air scoop in that... coming along, maked a bunch off the list... as you can see the bike is going to be called "No Regrets" named after a buddy that passed away this year... I am going to script this on the rear cowl

Here's a bit on hydroforming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_Z3AIFSd60&feature=related

ya, I mean Im not going to throw the disc brake away, Ill rebuild it at some point. But Using a drum from one of the other bikes is a short cut that doesnt sacrifice build quality. On top of that, Ive come to really like the look of twin drums.

It's getting so much closer Joe. I really like the rear set brackts powered the same color as the frame. Can't wait to see this in the show in shine section. There are so so many cool builds going on right now on this sight. I wish I hade more time to post on them all. Anyway, I'll continue to lurk everywhere. I've always been kinda a voyeur,LOL. Troy

ahh man this this is so comfortable... got the riding possition right where i want it!... got the oil cooler mounted up, new fittings done to run the oil strait out and not down.... tied that back and moved the cooler back behind... still will get plenty of air flow and is out of way of your foot... the lines are above where hte chain passes and there is a guard under there for them as well... these lines will of course be wrapped in the chrome wrap... also did a mock up of what i am going to do on the exaust.. simple and clean, ill wrap the header pipe in white wrap...

ha ha ha, no had a few buddies over an my best friend... i could not figure out where to mount the cooler, so while i did some other stuff they drank a bit and came up wiht the idea of where it sits... i am modeling the riding possition to be an exact match to a newer GSXR... so far it is DEAD on!
*what do you guys think of the rear sets? think i should ditch those brackets and come up with a diff plate or something?

It's looking great, Joe. I think the rearsets look fine, they kind of disappear into the frame, which is what you want I think. The only suggestion I have is shorten the bars. You could lose 1.5 to 2 inches off each end and they would be more in proportion to the bike. It's gonna be hot no matter what.

ooh ya! that is a must! thanks for the tip... i need to wait till i get my throttle control and then i will cut them down, i want them in there nice and tight.

Exactly what I was thinking.

few changes... going to bend brass oil cooler lines.. much cleaner, and not going to wrap the pipes, will just clean up the chrome an make some heat shields where i have to make the small pipe that will conect the header to the muffler.

little off topic... got some risers and brake pedal done for a customer... chech these out!! (they still need to be split and tapped so you can get the bars on and off.. but they are insane...
