Funny you mention, I just broke down the other day right as I was turning to ride back on the farthest I have taken the bike yet haha! Got home and it fired right up of course, but I know breaking down at this point of the build is almost surely going to happen on a few occasions! hahaha
Hello all, I have a friend, actually its my girls grandpa, who is riding around malaysia and had a cdi fail on his 79 cx500
Looking for a good deal on one, because after shipping a $140 CDI gets twice as expensive real quick! haha thanks!
Awesome looking bike! Reading about how you got it finally running right and taking it out for a good long rip got me stoked on getting mine wrapped up. Never had a motorcycle before, but the 360 is an absolute blast!
Love the bike! It is very similar to what I have going with my 360 and I really dig the look you got going.
Where did you get the shorty mufflers? I dig the sound in the vid
Got this bike almost 2 years ago for free from a friend of my dear mom. I honestly had no idea about these bikes, cafe bikes or anything until I was offered this bike. I was warned it hadn't ran in many years and they had no idea what was wrong with it. It had sat in a garage for the most part...
Wanted to get a consensus on running a cb without the rear hoop. I am really new to motorcycles, and I would like to just remove the rear hoop. I love how it looks, and I trimmed up the rear fender so it has a nice clean look to it.
Will running without the stock slide in type hoop have any...

Dually noted ;)
I am not sure I like the fenderless look, I just pulled the front off to see how it would come out. Fender needs a refresh so while I wait on parts, i am going to clean up the exhaust and fenders
I hesitate to use the term cafe racer for my bike thus far, but eventually it will be one haha Basic stuff like regular maintanance and a set of clubmans so far. Hope to eventually do some track day events and get a true cafe style seat and rear sets.
Almost road ready now, just need to...
Thanks for the tips, I will keep them in mind with the replacement
I was pretty happy for long it lasted with how bad I treated it, Got a new one coming from a friend who had a new lead acid style battery so I will treat that one much better since it will be more sensitive to discharging...
Thanks for the condolences, I was pretty sure it kicked the bucket. I have been pretty hard on it over its life, I mean it was in my track car. It sat at a decent charge most the time but the head and cranking at track days and autox events took its toll.
I was kick starting the bike for...
