So i blew the dust off the computer and remembered my password! The South Chisholm Scuderia is closed for the winter. It gets friggin cold up here in the north and the shop has no heat. I did manage to get all my body work done and all primed and sealed. So to remedy this issue the wife and I...
Got the seat just about finished. Didn't like the big ol' gap in the front so I have finished that with more glass to follow the tank contour. I think it's gonna be alright!
I used the stock ball bearings (19 top/ 20 bottom, I think or vise versa ) . i know I should have used the tapered cone type but I'm poor and I had the ball bearings. You have to use the Cb upper cup that sits in the head tube as the Ninja one is like .06 too small. The Cb cup will need about an...
While finishing up on the Cb400 seat I thought I would repaint the CB360 tank. Not that one has anything to do with the other, i just have A.D.D. and that's what happened. Have not cleared it yet. Not sure what I'm gonna do on the sides, leave em with just the Honda emblem or put some striping...
I used the stock CB bearing cup that sits in the stem and had the center cut to clear the Ninjas stem. Works like a charm. The back is a little more tricky, requiring the caliper mount to be machined on the outside to get the wheel centered and I'm still working out what to do about the rear...
cleeuw, that tank looks good after 6 months!
NoneMoreBlack, if you really wanna go trick, use DuPont satin clear. The protection of a clear coat without the shine.
I'd be interested in knowing the woe's of the 360's top end as well. I don't plan on riding far, but I do plan on giving her the beans! Wish I would have kept my tank blue. Lookin' sweet!
I agree Tim, from the rear it looks a little disproportionate. I think I might whack about an inch off the top.
Female mold makes more sense to me too, just a ton more work, but I guess if I'm keeping this one I should do it up proper.
Looks like a great start. On the fork lowers, I used some brake clean and a red scotchbrite pad to knock the crap and crud off and then began the long but rewarding process of polishing. Good luck!
Got a little further on this one today as well. Got the wrong paint so Monday I'll get some lacquer to top coat it and the I can decide if I want to use this as a male or female mold.
So today my wife's 9 year old says " since you got the white bike, you don't pay any attention to the blue one." He was right, and today we had putty sanding class at the shop. He was diggin it.
