    Getting a cover on it

So I built my seat pan for my seat. I have since put foam on it and It is now ready to cover. I have the black vinyl, but now I am not sure how to secure the cover. Here is the pan. The problem is the fiberglass is too hard to put staples in. Anybody know a glue that strong enough to hold the...

Will this get the job done?

I am at a point in my build where I need to get some welding done. I need to have a rear hoop put together, and I need to weld up some rear set mounts. Welding is something that I want to learn to do, and for a little more then it will probably cost me to have somebody do it for me, I could but...

    Finding an exhaust adapter

My cb750f has a four into one setup, and the port to the slip on muffler is 2.5" diameter. I have been trying to find an adapter to to take it down to fit a 1.75" slip on. Does anybody have any good advice on places to look? Should I just go to a muffler shop and see if they can make one? Thanks

Forgot one thing, how big of a problem is it.

I started making my first fiberglass seat pan this morning. I was really careful to tape everything off, then I used foil tape over that, and then put on two layer of fiberglass mat. I was feeling really great until I realized that I did not put anything on the foil tape (wax, WD40, etc) to help...

    Tapered Bearing Installation

I am installing tapered bearings for '76 CB750F. I check the older threads and I seem to be running into the same problem that a lot of people have had about getting the the lower bearings to seat at the bottom of the steering stem. I tried putting the stem in the freezer overnight, and...

    What the clutch?

I took the clutch cover off of my 76 CB750f to polish. Before I started polishing I removed the clutch lever, shaft, clutch lifter, and retainer. Tonight I reassembled everything, and it seems like there is not enough travel in the clutch lever. It is moving about 1/4" forward when you pull on...

    Engine Bolts

I have a '76 CB750f, and I need to track down new engine hanger bolts (the bolts that hold the engine in the frame). Does anybody know a supplier that sells them? Also do you know if bolts for a 1973 Honda CB750 will fit a '76 CB750F? Cheers, Matt

    Special Purpose

I was driving down the highway and saw this guy the other day. I don't know where this guy was going, but it looked like he had something important to do when he got there ;D <img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_MBleYdhemZk/SfFQFk-W0TI/AAAAAAAAAKM/9rCkG5MQJCY/s800/IMG_0440.JPG" />

    Engine Cleaning and Polishing

I think I may have put the cart before the horse on this one. Let me start by saying I have limited storage space in my garage (and storing in the apartment is not going to happen). I have a '76 cb750 that is currently stripped to the frame with the engine still in. I decided that I wanted to...

    Screwed

Working on stripping my 76 cb750F down to the frame. I have gotten just about everything off, but have hit a snag with the screw that connects the oil line to the crank case. I completely stripped the phillips head screw. I am now going through various efforts to get that out. My question is...

    CB750F First Project

Last summer I got this '76 CB750F. It ran pretty well when I got it, with the exception of one of the carbs flooding. And was in really good shape considering what I bought it for. It is my first project bike, and has been coming along slowly since I brought it home. I have been spending lots...

    Carborator will not budge

I am trying to remove the Carbs on my 76. cb750 F. This is my first attempt at fiddling with the carborators. I have managed to get the throttle cables off, and I got all of the connectors on the airbox side of the carbs off. I can not get connectors on the engine side of the carbs to budge...

    Mounting a New Seat

I bought a fiberglass seat off Ebay last week for my '76 CB750F. It is an airtech VSL6 Does anybody have any experience mounting this style of seat, or a similar air-tech seat? I just finished grinding a few bits off of the frame (helmet locks and the original seat catch/lock), and the seat...

    buffing recommendations

I have yet to try my hand at buffing, but I have just about convinced myself that I should be able to see my reflection in all the shiny bits on my project bike. I have seen a few posts that recommend using a high speed drill with buffing wheel attachments, and I was wondering what the general...

    Re-attaching Throttle Cable

I have a '76 cb750. I swapped out the bars and had to replace the throttle grip, and now I can not get the throttle cable re-attached. My bike has a push pull throttle, and both cables are present on the bike. I am not sure which cable is the "push" and which cable is the "pull". The one that I...

Getting the front end off the floor

well... the rear end too. I was trying to put my '76 cb750 on my lift tonight so I could drop the fork tubes out to put on new headlight mounts, and change the fork oil. When I went to put the bike on my lift (I have a Craftsman Professional 1500 lb. Motorcycle/ATV Jack) the kick stand...

    Un-Hiding Wires on 750F

I have a '76 cb750F and I am in the process of swapping the stock bars out for ace bars. Things were going smoothly, but I have hit a small snag. The wires for the turn signals, starter, hi beams, etc. are run through the stock bars. I have all the wires disconnected and I am all set to pull...

    caferacer.com headlight

I just tried to order the 7 inch Round Cafe Racer Headlamp from Caferacer.com and found out that they are out of stock. I have not heard back yet about when they think they will have them back in stock. Does anybody have any other sources for this, or a similar, headlight?
