    Wheel Alignment & Rotors

I have an older 1982 Yamaha Seca 650 I'm working on and just recently had to redo some of the brakes as the rotor ate into the caliper mount bracket. After I took it apart I found that the forks were possibly twisted and on top of that the rotor was rubbing on the caliper bracket. I recently...

    Shaft vs Bike Age

We all know that shaft bikes have a higher percentage of power train loss compared to those with a chain. If you were looking at an older bike say mid 70s to late 80s would you be more inclined to go with a chain over a shaft? Would it be more to do with the CCs of the bike? Or would you just...

    Yamaha XV Bikes

What is the general consensus on these bikes? I am looking at a couple bikes this spring and they have shown up on my radar. One is a untouched xv750 with lots of possibilities and another is a xv920 already modded but has starter issues which I know about. My concerrn is around the power...

    DT175 Tire Replacement

Bike in question: Rear is a 3.50x18 and front is a 2.75x19 .. Doing the conversion 3.50 ends up being a 90 tire where the 2.75 is a 70 tire. For the back I'm figuring I could do a 100/90-18 and for the front I could do a 90/90-19 setup? Anyone see any issues with this?

    Lean/Rich Carb Conditions

Without going into too many specifics I am trying to pin point down somethings and one of the which is right now my bike I can get running with the choke on. Custom Throttles for Custom Bikes

I'm curious what you guys use on bikes that are custom. For example I went from a dual to a single carb which requires me to use a new throttle setup. One of the more popular ones that seem to be used is something like the Turbo Throttle from Motion Pro...

    Unhappy with XS650direct.com

Being that I live in Canada and shipping across the border at times can be very expensive I try to shop as much locally as I can but our local shops can really suck and have no clue and just order things anyways. So the other day I needed to order some parts for my bike and xs650direct had them...

    Spark Plug Boot Replacement

I wasn't sure where exactly to place this so I placed it here. I'll start with a bit of a back story. I picked up an 40 year old bike that I managed to get running last year and then I purchased a new combined R/R unit so I was getting my bike rewired to work with this and got the bike started...

    Speedo Drive (kph vs mph)

I've searched high and low to try and get a correct answer on this and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. My bike from 1974 came with a speedometer that shows mph instead of kph and since I live up in the great north I would like it to reflect the kph instead of mph. Is it just as simple...

    Adding DC to Scooter

I know that we have a couple of talented people in here that know a thing or two about electrical. Right now I am looking into adding a 12v circuit to a scooter with only AC so that lights and horn work off of 12v. I have included 2 diagrams for reference and from I can see as long as I add a...
