Re: 1977 KZ650B1 "Psycho Therapy"(new candy)

Um. Yes. 8) Pipes look pretty good. How much footage did you need to wrap all of that?

Re: 1977 KZ650B1 "Psycho Therapy"(new candy)

I would say around 60'. I bought 100' roll so not sure exactly.

Re: 1977 KZ650B1 "Psycho Therapy"(new candy)

Cool, thanks for the estimate. I was always wondering how much people had to buy, as that stuff can be spendy sometimes. Lookin' good though sir.

$33 plus shipping so not too bad. Self proclaimed carb enthusiast, I like that!!

Re: 1977 KZ650B1 "Psycho Therapy"(new candy)

Had a productive day today. Stripped tank,2nd try at a seat and mounted electronic and battery trays. I bought some round caulk saver to mold in the seat like the DCC video. worked pretty slick except the matting did not want to conform as well as I'd hoped, lots of air bubbles to contend with. Durgam rearsets on the way, need to weld in a mount for one side and also weld in a new ignition mount up in corner of center triangle.

Haha, yeah, note how it doesn't say carb guru....I just enjoy anything that has carbs so "enthusiast" made the most sense!

That is the cleanest setup for making a fiberglass seat that I've seen in a long time. :D

Thanks motorbikebruno. The first time was so fu#$ing messy, i thought it was time to clean it up a bit. Oh yeah see that brush in a cup of resin? Thats now wall art just in case anyone wants to know how i made that seat.

Clipons and gauge lowered. Anyone have a source for a clean 36mm top clamp?

Not that my top clamp is that awesome, but on the KZ550 build in my sig, I ground off the top clamps and it came out pretty cool.

Looks great! Where are those clipons from?

Re: 1977 KZ650B1 "Psycho Therapy"(new candy)

Ebay specials 36mm. They dont work with my front master though so one more bleepin part to buy.

Fabbed up the brake arm for the rearsets tonight and worked on the hidden ignition switch(location yet to be disclosed). Also layed 3 more coats of resin on seat.

Made some progress. The tank is almost ready for paint and the seat framework has been brazed in, rearsets done on one side.

Just found this and read the entire post, even lol'd a few times. Great work man keep it up. I am all in for the rest of this build!

I freakin' love the exhaust.

Motor painted with duplicolor engine enamel semi gloss black. I still need to polish covers and add a bunch more stainless bolts that I have from Z1 enterprises.

Did you figure out the front brakes on this bike, I am in the process of converting to dual calipers with ss lines directly to each and want to ditch the hard line. Did you figure out what Banjo fitting to use
