i agree, best wishes for you and your wife

Good to hear. I'm a the hospital with the wife using their internet connection. They are doing some strange things... Probably be here for a bit.

Glad to see the stacks worked out. Shame I didnt get to mail the others out yet. Soon though. This is all coming to a close soon. May need to avert my attentions back to this to prevent me from losing my sanity. (Sanity is highly over rated anyway as I am sure you guys would agree judging by some of the pics I have seen being posted ie: sleek and sexy.)

Keep it real.

Canuck.

Hey the wife and family comes first, I sure she will pull through, keep us posted. Don't worry about my stacks, I am not going anywhere, so take care of the wifey! -MBS

I hope things turned out OK man and maybe we'll see you round here again.
Take care of you and yours mate!

Well I'm back. Been sneaking out to the shed in the wee hours to finish the bike. I took it out for a run yesterday and had a wipe out (minor) on a clover leaf. Broke the mirror and the shift peg. No big deal. Needs to get repainted anyway. Glad to see the familiar and waving hello to the new faces. Here are some pics.

Peace.

Canuck.

Hey good deal man! Glad to hear everything turned out good for the wife adn new riding buddy!
Looks like the scoot came out great!

Hey Jaeson (aka Canuck),

Firstly....man, I just came across your thread and have spent the last few hours reading each page and watching the build come together (and other dramas that life threw at you) and gee.....I gotta say!, this should be made into a movie/doco....fantastic work (and story). I couldn't stop, even though it was 19 pages long it was just really an interesting read. And may I say, you seem like a top bloke!....to offer the service of making those stacks for everyone, finding the time to continue with such an amazing bike build and...tending to your wife (and new family's) needs.

WELL DONE ;)

Secondly, that is one 'kick ass bike'! I dig the treatment of the custom taillights (very nice work), I love the seat especially after you insisted with the upholsterers to redo it 'properly' with bumstop (can't have a cafe without a cool bumstop ;D ) and the colour scheme is a killer. I too have grown to like my comstars once they were powdercoated Satin Black and this is coming from a Wire Spoke fan. I just can't believe the dedication and 'can-do' ability you have and full kudos to you for just getting in a making something instead of buying 'off the shelf' like I would do for a lot of things you built/created.

Anyway, just thought I'd show my appreciation for such an intriguing build and all the best for the future (both for family and new projects).

Cheers,

Mate finally finished and on the road ;D and looking dam sexy too i might add, although your riding buddy doesn't look to happy with you letting someone else on HIS scoot :D :D. In all a great build and well deserved, what we now need is a nice colour side profile shot to add to our screen savers ::)

On to the next project, mmmmmmm Honda XR75 super motard for the young fella

Rod from OZ 8)

Good to see you back. Well done on the kid; he looks great. Glad to hear your wife is well. Keep the cool pics coming.

Congratulations on the kid and the bike. both look fantastic! Photos are very cool. Please keep em comming.

Troy, Thanks on both counts. He's a cool little kid. Can have a bad day and come home and things don't seem so stressed (unless he's filled something). Thanks for the comps on the photos. The model I used was very laid back and fun to work with. Might do more riskie pics later.

Chrisf, Will do Mate. Still can't figure out who he looks more like.

Zonda, Don't know if you noticed the Aussie infantry uniform jacket she was wearing. Found it at a surplus store in the old district of Calgary. As for the kid riding my bike.... maybe when he's got another 20 odd years behind him... he can ride another bike earlier. Thanks a good idea btw. A small cafe for him... i like it.

ROne, Hey Brother. Thanks for the kind words. Its been a hell of a run since I first started. With out sounding too sappy, I owe a lot to the ppl on this forum for keeping my mind occupied and off of the wild ride the wife and I endured. On an off note, I really enjoyed your profile link as well. That CX500 looks slick. Where did you get the seat from?

Swagger, a couple of days and Ill have those stacks out. Promise.

Autoguy, Thanks for the comps Mate, hope those stacks still look alright. Take er easy.

glad to hear yer boy is doing good :) the stacks look dead sexy, thank you again :) tis supposed to be nice this week, hopefully i can take the bike for its first run around the block :)

man all good things going on for you! well deserved, bike looks great, congrads on the little guy, glad the wifey is doing better and nice land on the hot chick taking photos with your scoot! hows abotu just a side profile of the bike... i want to see that sucker!

heya Canuck,

Hehehe, funny you should ask about the seat.....seems that is my number question that everyone is asking. Might have to do a seperate thread on the seat alone soon. It was actually the original Shadow CX500 seat but the previous owner has trimmed it down quite a bit then cut new foam (I think) and then re-upholstered. It is extremely comfortable and it fits the original clips without modification although I would like to taper the back 'Bumstop' a bit so it's not so 'fat' looking from behind.

Cheers,
Rone
