Okay... so, here's one for mid-week... to celebrate "hump day" (that's the hump in the middle of the week guys... not meaning you can just go hump anybody....) LOL ;D

Okay okay.. I know it's not a cafe racer... it's a softy.. but heck, I just love this thing because of it's colours and the fact that it's incorporated my other love into the build... watches! Yep... I collect watches... is that geeky? (don't answer that plz.. it was a rhetorical question)

...Even though it's not a wonderous technological extravaganza.. i think it warrants an "awesome" tag... I mean.. come on.. just look at that sexy beast ;)

So guy's (or gals) show us your latest curiosity or lovliness from the land of motor... any punters? Or is everybody too busy working their way out of the recession? *jks.

Anyone seen the new Horex??? For thoes of you unfamillair with the brand they are a German brnad that made bike up untill the 60's or 70's. That factory burned down and the company we done until recently a few investors have decided to revive it.
For thoes of you VW fans it uses a 1.2L supercharged VR6 motor, and is very much a cafe. by the lloks of it the comany is backed by VW.

Been following Horex for a while Via kneeslider. I really like the look of the bike and think they could do well. It really is well thought out. I doubt I could afford one but still a nice bike. The full colour bike rendering with the brown leather seat is sexy as hell.

amen... let's hope they offer it to the punters at a realistic price.. as oppossed to the new Norton 961.. which for the time being, is still more expensive than a Dicati 1098.. you could buy a Paul Smart GT replica for a third of the price of the Norton... There's really no point bringing out a motorcycle that is basic in design and utilizes cafe racer ideals.. only to sell it at a price that is more exravagant than a MV F4... Let's hoping it is backed by VW.. that's probably the only chance this thing stands of being sold at GSXR/R1 prices... But more realistically.. probably in the realms of BMW and Euro price range...

... just read the entire article over on Kneeslider....

"The Horex will be manufactured in Germany and will go on sale in late 2011 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, expanding within Europe in 2012 and in following years will gradually extend to the USA and Japan. Horex is currently setting up their dealer network. The brand is going to be in the "premium" segment of the market. No price was mentioned.."

well, i guess that answers that question LOL  *sobs quietly*

We're not even getting here in Australia.... I guess they figure we must be spoilt already with non-turbo Hyabusa's and CB1300... or gixxers.. wow... That's great... we can't get any of the good shit here.. PLUS we have to deal with every 2nd living creature trying to either kill us or eat us.. freakin spiders... freakin snakes... freakin sharks... we live 3 km's from the freakin sun... it's friggin hotter than hell... we pay twice as much for fuel than anywhere else... bike rego costs the same as a 4 cylinder car... we get movies 6 months after the rest of the world does.... pigs put speed cameras in the side of curb-side trash cans to raise revenue... and then we can't even be graced with the awesomeness of the VR6 down under  it's freakin sad :'(

*curls into fetal position... sucks thumb whilst rocking back and forth and makes self-soothing noises*

Okay... those of you living "State" side... you probably seen this getting around either on the web or at motorcycle shows. It's the Mission 'One'. An electric supersports bike. I believe it runs on Li-Ion batteries (farkin' expensive but v/light) and is good for a 150 mile range with a top speed of 150mph. The bike can be adjusted to lower the top speed and increase range though.. so if you're happy to have a top speed of 120mph to play with... you'd probably have a bit more juice for an extra long run thru the twisties ;) Best thing is... 120 foot pounds of torque and a 136hp liquid cooled 3-phase AC induction motor. It runs on super light Marchesini forged alloy wheels with Brembo brakes, and Ohlins suspension all-round.
AND coz it's electric.. there's no gears... just roll-on. Whether you're taking off from the lights or cruising at 70mph, you can roll the thottle on and you still have an immediate 120 ft/lbs available... Yee-haa! And it will power wheelie at 70mph too.

Unfortunately... they're still too farkin expensive.... but I want one.. sure there is no engine sound... the sweetest sound on earth (next to the sound of afterburners) Will try and attach some vid footage too:

Personally, I do love old motorcycles.. heck.. even new motorcycles.. I love going thru the gears.. the sound of the pistons and the exhaust note thru the pipes.. the smell of bikes and all the extra wonderful sexy stuff that is all about riding a motorcycle. BUT, we must also remember, that the main reason we ride is to be 'IN' the experience of the journey. Sitting in a car with windows and a roof destroys our souls.... so we sit on a bike.. and we can smell the air, and see so much more and feel the wind thru our eyeballs.... I guess, what I'm trying to say is this: we shouldn't be affraid to embrace an electric bike. Sure, most of us have our preference... fuel... motors... etc. But, we shouldn't forget the main reason many of us ride is simply for the pure enjoyment of riding.... it shouldn't matter if it's fuel or elec.
Whether we like it or not, the future will arrive here one day. As tech becomes more available, product prices will drop and things like the Mission One will be within the grasp of mear mortals to afford. Eventually, we will use all the fossil fuels up.. so, if the future is a 150mph super-light, super-fast, 130hp, 120ft/lb race monster that only needs to be plugged in at night.. and I can roll-on wheelie at 70mph....? Then, I guess i'm alright with that ;)

I do not like that white grill cut out area. It looks like a plastic napkin holder from K mart.

I might as well throw in my weird builds.
#1 Kawasaki 1500 V twin converted to chain drive.
#2 Honda VF1000R in a hand built frame.

Hey Don.. welcome ;) I like the V4 chop.... that's very different and a sweet build too. i always wanted to build a long, low, rigid street rod with massive rake USD forks, clip-ons, 250 rear, and a V-Max motor... with velocity stacks poking thru vertical tunnels in the tank mmmm....
anyway... like the v4 chop... nice one ;)

Mr Yinzer! Nice one! ;) We must have been sharing a similar brain-wave today... I woke up this morning and went thru my phone of all the bike pics I've downloaded from Exif over the years... I found my Guzzi V8 pics and thought... "hmmm... I should put them up on the thread..."... Then I get to my PC just now.... and you put up a vid! I've never seen that vid.... it sounds so amazing... Gotta love a Guzzi... whether it's 2 or 8 cylinders lol :D

In the meantime... a closer look for those interested:

Look up "AirTech Streamlining". They sell a fibreglass one, and will ship worldwide.
