JUNE 2013 - DO THE TON BIKE OF THE MONTH - VOTING

Agreed, but I may be biased. I share a workspace with Swan, so I've seen the incredible amounts of time, energy, and money he's put into this thing. Even if he doesn't win this, he has been a very happy camper for the last month or so since he finally (mostly) finished this project.

    Cycle-X, WTF????

No, Jon. When you pay for a product and service, you should get that product and service. It's justified.

Ridding jacket for a Small dude!

I'm your height and only about 5-10 lbs. heavier, so I understand your problems. Go vintage. If you haven't hit ebay yet, do it. People were generally smaller in decades past, so you might have some luck. I scored a 60's-ish Belstaff Trialmaster on ebay for a song that fits perfectly, and just...

NOVEMBER 2012 DO THE TON BIKE OF THE MONTH - NOMINATIONS

I'll second Swan's CB400F. It looks like a café should, and it sounds even better.

Welcome aboard. Where are you in Minnesota?

    Another Honda CB400F cafe racer

I was watching Swan working on his seat all afternoon today. This is going to be a sexy bike when it's done.

1962 BSA DBD34 Gold Star restoration (1000 miles and more)

Re: 1962 BSA DBD34 Gold Star restoration (Speedometer is restored) That was probably Andrew's Rebel that he recently sold. White seat? I'm really loving those pipes, man. Anyway, to avoid hijacking Jon's thread, I'll move this to PM.

    Shorter brake hose?

http://slingshot-cycles.com/ makes custom brake lines, many have the option to be cut to clubman/clip-on length. Plus they make stainless lines, which is always a worthwhile investment. If you do decide to use them, I think the coupon code "caferacer" hasn't expired, and if I remember it was...

1962 BSA DBD34 Gold Star restoration (1000 miles and more)

Re: 1962 BSA DBD34 Gold Star restoration (Speedometer is restored) Ah, I assumed it was a CL (tiny profile photo, sort of hard to tell). There's about a half dozen of us with vintage, custom bikes (the "Winona Riders") and it's not uncommon to find at least one of us at Ed's. It probably...

    Trailer Question...

I've borrowed a ratty old trailer similar to hoof's to carry a motorcycle, and it worked just fine. I'd say the trailers you're looking at are a bit overkill... but if you're going for style points, knock yourself out.

1962 BSA DBD34 Gold Star restoration (1000 miles and more)

Re: 1962 BSA DBD34 Gold Star restoration (Speedometer is restored) asdf, is that your scrambler in your profile photo? I've never seen that around town. Here's a couple shots of Jon's Triton that I took a couple of months ago when he was doing some field repairs in my driveway...

What did I do to upset the Gods .............

That stings, but I'll have to agree with everyone else in this thread. £200 and a couple of broken bones is something you'll recover from fairly quickly. It could have been much worse.

What does everyone do for their "real" job?

I tend bar. As much as I love it, it's definitely not a career for me. My ultimate goal is to get into the brewing industry. Or something related to my seemingly useless history degree.
