1974 Honda CB360 Garage Find Cafe Build

He should be insured for liability. I'd definitely be taking that bike in there and opening the drain plug right on his front lawn with a video camera rolling. I'd also post a negative review on google places under his business listing and open a dispute with the BBB and tell him that if he comes good on everything that it'll be removed. You shouldn't have to buy an el cheapo motor and do all the work when he should be paying for the repair. My 2 cents.

I was really hoping to use my excuse for needing a motor to hit up Mid Ohio but thanks to some decent luck, I located a motor here in town! The guy even dropped it off for me. I was looking for just a motor but in typical moto-collecting fashion, I have acquired another damn motorcycle. Gonna pull the motor outta this guy and get Uncle Deadly running for now. I guess I now have the project all lined up for this winter!

Hey cool.... if you were looking to do a disc brake on the front eventually, there's your parts for that.

Well lets try this again...

This motor has 12k miles on it and is just a tad different than mine. My favorite part is the arched listing of all the gears just above the shifter arm on the cover.

Been busy with work and design for clients as of late while also waiting around for the motor gods to bless me. I was going to use this for a client the other day but decided to turn it into a poster for my new love of cafe bikes instead. I'm thinking of having some printed up in a small poster format.

Motors swapped and.....it runs! I actually took it around the block a couple times last night. I'll do a write up later tonight about everything but I just wanted to say that I finally caught a break!....I think.

I still dont believe it but this bike is actually running. I'm not sure why or how the bike Gods decided that I had been punished enough but they have loosed their grip for now. BIG thanks to SeaBee for being kind enough to soda blast my motor on his Saturday. I also gotta thank my buddy Justin for spending all evening Saturday Swapping and tuning the bike with me. We hit it hard about 6 o'clock and didn't look back until the beer was gone and she fired up! I don't want to curse myself but for something that was dormant for 28 years, it runs pretty damn well! Got a few little things to work out but I'm not sure when/if that will ever not be the case. Gonna ride the bike over and get a quote on a seat pad and that should pretty much wrap things up for now.

Here is a vid from Saturday night. Break/Tail lights were unplugged for the seat removal. They do work nicely though.

Very cool that you have it running! Reminds me though to not do straight pipes.... yowza. Sounds good, but loud. I live on a golf course my neighbors would run me off with torches and pitchforks.

What are you doing living on a golf course with a bunch of stuffy old people!?!?! I'm thinking I might slap on some of those 12" shortys to tone it down a bit. I can see this wearing thin on my neighbors after a few weeks. For now its really freaking fun though!

Jealous, for sure :'(

Where are you getting the seat padding done?

I've got a sure bet guy in Nicholasville but I don't want to make that ride just yet. I'm getting a quote from coach craft today and if they are reasonable then I will let them do it. I've heard they are really pricey. The guy in Nicholasville is really cheap and does fantastic work but if I have to rent another trailer to take it to him x 2 plus gas then its kind of a wash if coach craft is 50 bucks higher.

Bringing them a little excitement I guess. 8) It's a public course... so it's not that stuffy. Cool nieghborhood though a bit quiet. Plus my wife wanted a sweet house.... so that's what she got.

Oh my God! Coach Craft wanted $250.00 bones for a seat pad made out of vinyl and the guy asked me to fab a pan out!?!? Fuck that noise.

Congrats, sir!

Oh, and I'd take one of those posters if'n you print them out.

Like a desperate prom date seeking the attention of those with more money, its been done. Ink has been laid on paper.
