I like how this is coming together, a lot. Said it before, this really is bike building. Very inspiring.

This is really nice buddy. I can't get over how much I like that tank on it. Perfecto.

This bike looks like it's going to ride and sound the way a 1988 Mike Tyson overhand right would feel... I like it

Air box mold is done, short of some final cleanup. Since I began this conversion, I’ve decided to hold a battery in here, so I’ll have to build an interior structure with the outer casing coming from this mold.

Putting a battery in there sounds like a good idea, Eric. Will it have to be vented or will heat be an issue?

Curious to see how you do the internal mounting if you are going to be hiding components in there.

Oh nice. Looked like sanded and primed so.ething you carved, but zoomed in I can see it looks more like metal.

While I wait on the first air box delete cast to cure...

Work begins on the buck for my electronics box. The battery is back in the box.

You’ll notice a yellow-ish coating on the buck. This is an epoxy called Epsilon. It’s a foam hardener that is essential to this type of work. I can follow up with something like Bondo to refine the form before mold.

I had to go back a few pages to understand exactly what the airbox delete meant - I had no idea the airbox on these engines was snugged up into the engine like that. Now it all makes sense. Looks so clean Irk - how will you be finishing it? Are those carbs as tricky to dial in with pods as, say, Keihin carbs on a dohc CB750?

Thanks, Jim. These are Mikuni VM carbs. Night and day difference between your situation and mine. I wouldn’t want to run the stock Bing cv carbs with these filters. The plan for the air box delete is to finish it in a cast aluminum color paint, so it matches the engine.
