I love those welds on that tank, beautiful!
Not bad for £27. If it holds oil it'll be a proper bargain.I love those welds on that tank, beautiful!
Thanx....I should slot the oil tank frame in position for the full affect. Just need to decide on a slimmer gel sealed battery with decent output to cope with the starter motor and maybe 50-60W always on headlight.Looks great
Yeah, thanx...my mate said it was in good shape too...no visible holes, the rust present was surface only. I will test it to be sure, but have high expectations it'll be OK.That came out great
Ah well, it appears that way (and to some extent that's true), but going through the job list in my head there's a lot still to do. Need to break out the welder soon....got a few jobs for it lined up.Getting closer to finished now.
Phase2....arch bashed into some shape, still needs work, but the concept just might work out.I'd really love a Micron alloy billet fork brace, but at around £80-100 I have other areas to spend my hard earned....so, I plan to run a front guard....can't be doing with facefuls of dirt/shit etc, while at the same time the forks do need something to tie them together.
I found the old CBX front mount metal arch....I'd already cut off the original mounting holes to use on the CBX, but had a look at maybe bashing the rest of the arch into a fork brace and guard mount.
Phase1 - cut it down and attempt a bent curve that would fit......getting there. I need my big heavy engineering vice which is at my unit....so I'm struggling to bend the curve and mounting tabs correctly.
I'm also planning to use the CBX front guard, the profile matches the seat unit although it'll be cut down a touch and satin blacked to hide it.
I think I can bash both into shape....more anon.
He hinted it with the blue.Great progress. What are your plans for the top center of the tank?
