Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - for those who have been waiting patiently
Man, I look away for awhile, and you wreck Vicarious, and then change the tank and repaint! And you keep a good attitude. Nicely done. Can't wait to see how the paintwork turns out.
Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - for those who have been waiting patiently
Thanks guys. I am going to sand and repaint the seat - the color just doesn't match right. But I still need to run the gas lines and some other small stuff as well.
Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - for those who have been waiting patiently
First of all, I want to apologize for the dark cell phone pic. But i did get the seat painted to match the tank - looks much better. And I got the fuel lines hooked up and my new turn signals wired in. Fired the bike up but it's running weird...... higher idle than it should be and slow to rev when I jerk the throttle. Problems to be solved another day I guess. Still have to finish the seat, get led's for the signals, and I really want to replace the gas cap with a NOS part but that's a little bit of $$$ there.
Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - for those who have been waiting patiently
Almost definitely the carbs. More specifically, the throttle cables. I had to route them different because of the way the tank sits on the frame. I'll take a look at it soon, I'm not too worried about it.
Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - for those who have been waiting patiently
It'll be the cables then. They're stuck causing the throttle to stay too far ope and catching when you wring its neck. Should be fine mate. Looking great too. Get some proper photos up though ya goose.
Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - for those who have been waiting patiently
Rich, I have a gas cap for that tank. Its not new and its not perfect but too bad either. I'll send you a couple pics. I'd be happy to send it to you gratis. It needs the pin that gets clasped in the latch replaced. chrome should polish right up.
