Very sweet! Bike looks amazing! What's the total time you got into that so far?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Do any of us actually keep track? There are two things I never track on a personal bike....time and money! (only because crying like a little girl is so unseemly)

edit: Duh! Bike looks fantastic Tweak, really really good. That's going to be something to be proud of!

Thanks for the compliments. Like swagger said too much to count. I have been building the bike for about two years, maybe longer. This will complete about the third transformation during the process.

Re: 77 cb750f2 paint mock up

The bike is something special, hope warms up soon so you can ride the hell out it. ;D

Re: 77 cb750f2 paint mock up

wow man, i really dig the new paint, was a bit worried cause i loved the old style but he did well to hit the flow of the bike right on the head... dig the rear sets! you going to slap some powder on them so they vanish into the frame? being that they are so freshly machined some polish work woud also be pretty sick on the brackets and heel guards... looks great brohter!

Re: 77 cb750f2 paint mock up

Thanks for the props Joe. The rearsets are clear anodized to tie in the other clear anodized billet bits on the bike. I really wanted to stay away from too much black on this build and went with more contrast. I didn't want the details of the rearsets to be lost in the rest of the frame.

Tige,

The bike is looking sooooo nice. Larry did an outstanding job on the tins.

I think your decision to leave the pegs and levers was wise.
Silver is classic and the colour won’t wear off like my black does.

Cheers

Thanks Jim. Those were my thoughts exactly.

You know tweakin, that is one of the nicest iterations of a 750 out there today. I frankly don't think I could ever ride alongside you for being over-humbled the whole time. Beautiful work through and through.

Re: 77 cb750f2 paint mock up

Thanks guys, props from other garage builders means a ton!

Ringo, I think you would do just fine besides me on your amazing Gulf. Anytime you can make it over to the PNW we will ride. I am real fortunate to live in the Seattle area where there are some ridiculous builds...

Many other talented builders up here so I am sure I am leaving someone out. The vintage bike festival, Isle of Vashon, in September is unreal. If you can every make it to Tacoma for the festival you have a place to crash.

Re: 77 cb750f2 paint mock up

Haha, I will make every effort to take you up that offer! I was reading through FunJimmy's build on SOHC4 again last night and saw the pic of all the bikes lined up on the curb. So much effort and thorough work in one pic was almost too much! I'd love to see them together in one place.

Re: 77 cb750f2 paint mock up

tweakin,
Amazing build! Great work!!! Do you have any (or may I request?) out-door shots, all the way around the beast, 90* shots from the side and basically all over? I'd just love to see more of it. I've never really been a fan of the SOHC CBs ... until YOUR bike! Wow!
