I feel your pain. Many times ive bought expensive parts only to need to hack them up. its always frustrating to do it. But now you can chop it up and make it even sleeker. Maybe shorten it more than the stock length to modernize the proportions a bit... lemons in lemonade and all that.

Could you cast a fiberglass tail section with this too-long tailpiece as the mold? Could use the one you make for a practice run for your shortening.. just something to get a practice rep in before you cut the real thing.. I would hate to cut into an expensive part like that also

That’s not a bad idea. I could make a mold of the area I want to section plus 6” on each side or so. Lay up the part using the mold and the section the test part to see where I should cut and remove a strip…

Bumping this to top due to some overdue bling…

Ordered this custom shock from DMr Performance Suspension around New Years 2022 and received it today. It looks nice but one of the upper bushings is already missing. Can’t find it in the box either. I’m sorry to say but I’m less than impressed by DMr’s customer service over the last 18 months.

I’m worried about the spring rate being way too stiff. The Works Performance shock I have now has either a 800 or 900lb/in spring. The new shock was spec’d out at 1200lb/in!!!! I asked someone I know that is heavy into VFR’s and he runs the same stiff spring rate so I hope it’s ok. (Fingers crossed).
