Now that thing is looking great!

I'm sure you probably won't do this anytime soon, but I'd chop up that subrame and make a new one or at least mod the stock one. It looks a little bulky back there. Other than that, you're moving in a good direction!

I may just sit on race foam to get the rear looking cool; I just ain't married to that idea, yet...

The tail/brake light will get treatment, next. I hate the plastic holding on the tail light, and I like the tail light even less...

the ss/sp is head and shoulders above a m900

anyway I thought the same on those pipes. They are high mounts, which are more sought after than the low pipes, but the mid pipes are huge. Mine are a good 6" shorter.

I am telling you what- the powerband on this 900SS is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO usable!!!! I haven't ridden in 20 years (though I raced bicycles for the last 18 years) and she has yet to scare the piss out of me!!! I never felt one bit of scariness going 85 mph when I took her home!!!! The 900ss is a GEM!!!!!

I have never ridden a Monster, but this beast is one HELL of a scoot!!!!

I just don't want tons and tons of hassle changing the length of these pipes!!!! I just got some of the proper decals (Termignoni) to restore these to proper specs!!! Okay- painting the rusted bits black is probably a no-no, but I HATE seeing rust...

they shouldn't be rusting if they are termi's. the minimum material is stainless, and newer are ti. Your header pipes are stainless from the factory. Those aren't termi pipes though. I forget the brand they are, but those hangers are not termi hangers. They are most likely another brand.

I think I have some turn signal brackets for relocating the turn signals. Yours for postage if I still have them. The taillight looks better with the plastic trimmed up and out of the way, but you need to relocate the signals to do that. I have a fully trimmed under tray/fender if you want that also. but now we're talking beer money and shipping.

lol

I wonder why I saw the Termi outline (decal is gone) on the muffler? Hmmmm...

Check your PM...

people put termi stickers on them to be "cooler"..

Yeah- the more I researched Termi, the less these pipes seem to be that article. I will put my Termi stickers somewhere else... :-[

I will NOT be a poseur, therefore the Termi stickers will NOT go onto the mufflers. I did put a Yoshi sticker on my Scoot Coupe's muffler as a joke (as this thing is all of 50cc and goes just over 50mph!!!), but I hate being a poseur.

What do I have to do to make it run correctly if I lop off some pipe?

I have to try and tap the one out of the right header (not before a bath in WD40) before cutting it. It is nearly cold-welded to the stainless header!!!

actually - if the pipes are in good shape, you will be able to sell them very easily on ducati.ms A new set of carbon cans is usually 650-1350 depending on brand. you can usually get 2-3 bills for a set of non-butchered, non bashed cans. I sold a set of cans with some rash for 150.

I like the forza's, which are really re-badged sil-moto's, giacomoco (what I have) or termi's or who-ever. you get the idea. they come up for sale often, but honestly, unless yours are really mild steel mid pipes, there's no reason to change. The duc exhaust from the factory was very good, and the performance gain/change on slip ons isn't much. The stock/aftermarket low pipes you will drag in the corners if you ride hard, at track level riding mind you, not just going to the store through the canyons. There is a set of factory high-mounts, from the ss/sp/f.e. monoposto, but good luck finding those. Any 2v exhaust will fit. st2, 900ss, m900, st3 you get the picture...

post up a good side shot of the can's...

Like I said before, factory ducati cans are very good. the only reason people switch is for the sound or looks. Their 2v motors make torque, not hp, and you don't gain hp on exhaust on the 2v without going to a spaghetti headers or the like, then you loose the torque from a merged system. short answer - no jetting required when changing cans.

I may not even mess with the pipes, then. I would like to eventually take her for track days, and then it would be a pain.

The mid pipes are in good shape, except that now they are painted with hi-temp paint to cover rust. I may shorten them a teeny bit if it doesn't mess with my jetting.

I don't believe shortening the midpipe will affect performance the way shortening the muffler or headers would. The front end looks great, now to the tail! Are you going to clean up the lights in the rear?

Once I get a charging system problem solved, my energies will go into the rear end. I plan on making a new cowl for the seat, and I have a slick, slick tail light assembly planned.
