These guys sounded like they were still planning on charging me full price. Was in there a couple weeks ago and he said he'd try and and at least get me a price quote from Joe (who I guess takes care of that stuff). When I just asked for a ballpark, it was still looking to be around $350. Not sure how to get around them demanding money for work which took 7 months, assuming I can even get a hold of them. Maybe a threat of no more business from DTT?

you just need to get your parts back, imediatelly, zero dollers to those cunts ,wtf are you thinking ?

Hop in the car with a buddy or two, and head there on a weekday. Walk in and ask them where the stuff is, if they give you a bullshit story about it being at the sand blasters, pull out the phone and call the cops in front of them. When the cops arrive explain to the the cops the situation in full. The cops will ask them for there side and if they lie, it will not go good for them in small claims court.

Usually you don't get to dial the last digit before they come clean with the real story... wish you luck. I have had to resort to drastic action and neither side wins, usually cost more money and you don't get what was promised!

and just call the 550 dollar rear supermoto wheel, and the 600 dollar front wheel and custom adapters a total loss? I couldn't just not pay the guy.. I don't care about the swingarm, that was whatever, but the 1100 dollars in wheels he had of mine was incentive to pay him and get my stuff back...

I'd have been busting the door down after two weeks. I've consistantly had less experienced powder coaters turn frames and swingarms around in 1-3 days on average.

You should have got the police involved a few weeks in, when the shop might have still had your parts. Talk to your local law enforcement.

Joe (JRK5892) posts regularly and seems to be a stand up guy, I'm pretty surprised to hear this if this is the same shop he is affiliated with. I'd be interested to hear what he says. He posted last Friday.

but they did STEAL your shit and extorted you, like I said sorry about yer luk
I hate thieves

all of the linked images in PowderPro's "Turning out some sick powder coating this week" thread are broken, and their domain is for sale, but their last post was just 5 days ago. It seems like they are trying to make a break for it, in the virtual world at least.

Since the frame you dropped off for powder has a VIN, and assuming you have the title, would this classify as grand theft auto?

Technically, they stole your motorcycle (as far as the DOT is concerned).

^Quote from TPPs thread, guess nobody can get a hold of them.

I don't think he was trying to "get ahold of them" he's making an assumption that they've disappeared because of some broken links, which unfortunately has kinda always been the case for a few years with Joe, maybe a bad choice on hosting... I don’t know.

Are you positive this is the same Powder Pro?

Yes. Exactly.

I would have got my parts back, paid with a credit card, then called and stopped payment. I've had to do this several times with mechanics and parts people. Had a 64 El Camino once, ground up restoration. Took it to a body and paint place to have new floors and paint done. Received a call the car was done, got there and a beautiful paint job, but no floors. Guy tried to tell me it wasn't part of the deal. I put $5,000 on a credit card, took my car home, and cancelled the payment. He came up with floors the next day.....

For what its worth... I'm pretty sure their Facebook page has been deleted also. My man, you need to go there in person again and get your stuff.

Shit just got real real fast.
You can only do shitty things for so long before it puts you out of business.

I was definitely making the assumption that they were trying to make a digital getaway. You could argue that maybe their domain registration expired, on the same day their facebook page got hacked and deleted, and the same day their phone broke. There is another thread here on DTT of someone with the exact same situation with Powder Pro. It took something like 17 months to get their parts back, and half of them were "lost".

Like I told MJ when he was having trouble with his wheels, it's no fun to find out that our little corner of the internet isn't actually paradise.

Haha, I'm not a complete idiot, it wont argue that, it appears to be looking that way. I'm surprised however that he was posting work as recently as Friday.

Well I hope you're able to get your parts back. Like I said, I'd bust down the door.

Managed to get a hold of both Joe and Tim today. Looks like they turn their phones off on Sundays. They said they'd have it later today, and that they had started working on it yesterday. Good that I managed to contact them, but still....7 months...
