CR500 , 2 stroke hardtail chopper project
I'm in the final days of a biker build off on another forum and I'm trying to get into a show during the Austin motogp, so progress is necessary. I Made a bit of final progress tonight. With only 2 frustrations.
Frustration #1 was that I trusted the spring chain tensioner could adjust for 2 links. I was wrong. I should have put an adjustable tensioner on the axle plate. That was stupid and lazy., l will order a sprocket 1 tooth bigger as a work around, but I will have to add some adjusters later.
Frustration #2 was the front brakes. I ordered a new pads, shoes, front line and caliper rebuild kit and master. The rear brakes are great. The front line I ordered arrived as a rear line, the bolts holding the pads are seized and stripped and one piston of the caliper is frozen, but I can't get the pads out to rebuild the thing.. Luckily a honda caliper isn't hard to come by.
But I also managed to hook up the radiator, and the new reeds and polish the carb.
I'm a sprocket and a caliper away from riding this beast, it ain't gonna stop me now.
Oh I also built this brass trim ring for my embossed blue glass stop light.
