Guess it's too late to make an eccentric bushing for rear axle?

To late today, but never to late. Eccentric is a great way to go since I can't use a traditional threaded pull tensioner.

why not use snails ? polished brass snails would go with the moteef
Easy there buddy I have not polished any of my brass yet.

That's the same as the eccentric right? I don't remember seeing them in brass. But I can find something. I'm not sure I have enough axle length to do it on the outside of plates, I might have to take some room out of the spacers.,

But for now I'm on a deadline so I'll just get a tooth larger sprocket. I went down 10 teeth from stock so going up one won't hurt.

I guess I they function on the same theory, but the eccentric is more of an insert that hold the axle than just a plate. Snail was what I imagined when eccentric was mentioned.

My drz 400 has one. Fixed one side

I haven't cut the chain yet so I can remove as many links as I want. But when I pull the ends together and match the inner links it is too loose. If it try to pull it to the next inner link it bottoms out the tensioner and won't connect. I think it will have plenty of tension I just need to have a way to adjust length. It's totally my fault, I should have found a way to add an adjuster.

The problem with the adjuster was that the frame tube wraps around the axle plate so I need to have it push against the axle instead of pull.

You know that'll have a (slightly) negative impact on the already lacking top end on the bike right?

Going down 10 teeth?? What are you referring to?

The bike already does about 115mph in dirtbike form. Not too worried about loosing speed. Especially since going smaller on the rear increases top speed.

Or are you referring to top end horsepower?

Gotcha.
I'm not certain, but I believe that going down 10 (now 9) will make my midrange a little more useable. This thing makes 65hp and about 50lbs of torque so it should be able to pull a much lower gear ratio and hopefully that will widen the useable power range. Though cr500's are far more notorious for a lot of torque than a narrow powerband.

On this chopper I actually added an extra power band, so I'm hoping that helps too.

I wear the XL version of the Power Band. Or is that something different?

Found a junk yard master in a town 200 miles from a junk yard. Rebuilt it and have brakes as hard as a senior on prom night.

This photo shows everything I need to do to ride the bike., a tight chain, a fuel line and my seat. Really want to get my seat.

Y'all might not like the curves, i don't like that I welded fender struts to the frame, but the curves look pretty sexy from here.
