The main feel of the design is '50s inspired but then you use a modern font. I just feel like it needs to be researched more and after that, then a design implemented. I also think the kerning of your text needs a lot of work. Looks like you just went with the stock typeset in your design program, which usually isn't good for header and title text. I like the concept, just not wild about the execution. Doesn't really scream vintage to me, or even a modern take on vintage. Just feels kinda rushed.
I've been a graphic designer for about 12 years now and I currently do merchandise design in the music and sports industry. That said, it's your design, so take my critique as you will.

If you have an idea for a banner, I'd be more than happy to produce it for the masses. My pricing is about 2-5 over my cost to cover the gas to go pick them up and mail them out. Feel free to post your ideas here. I'd love to see them.
I just had a "I want a DTT banner" idea after seeing some old race banners online and doing a batch of banners for an Nickelodeon event.
Thanks again!

BCBarker said:Haha! Not exactly.. I just see things that inspire me to create other designs... And I had an hour long conference call today so I was sketching the whole time.
