Melba Toast, Gs400

That looks pretty sweet but... you need to make sure you have clearance with the engine and exhaust on!

There's 140mm of fork travel on these, so you need to make sure if she bottoms out that front tyre won't hit the frame or engine or exhaust...

I had to tackle the same issue with my right header as it crosses in front of the frame and as a result I couldn't use the stock mudguard... and it meant lowering the dirt bike guard I mounted as it was going to hit the lower triple with the forks fully compressed.

Pete, i put that into concideration, Im just using stock headers so it will hopefully clear.... If not i'll have to get the headers to hug the engine more.

Made a seat pan today. First i free handed a stencil on some cardboard, cut it out, then marked it on the sheet metal and did the same with shears. I cut two pieces so it would be thick enough. The duct tape is to hold it together, for now:

I've decided im going to run knobby tires. My back tire is bald and the front tire ended up not to good, it was really dry and ripped apart. Good thing i found that now! :-\
Anyone got good places to get some sweet knobbies? They look mean on bikes i think 8)

If you've got 18" front and back, Shinko 244's should be the go I think.

I had heaps of dramas getting dual sports for mine because noone here imports Shinko 244's and I ended up with a Pirelli Scorpion Trail front and Pirelli Scorpion MT90 A/T rear. I'm happy with them after all that but the Shinko's have a better range of sizes...

Bike is completely stripped down, getting ready for paint then reassembly. Also need to do some welding. Found a 70's? giant electric switch, most likely used on a big machine, in my junk pile behind the shop. It was made at GE (General Electric). Coincidently GE is in Peterborough where i am ;D should hide everything nicely. I want to wire the kill switch to the giant one on it, id have to use a toggle switch and put the plastic bit on top of it somehow.

Spent all day cleaning up parts, i was putting off this part cause its boring :-\ Im in need of a gasket kit aswell... i'll likely just make them myself.

Today i got a little work done, Started drilling holes in my electric box for the electrical compnents:

I managed to get a cb125 tank to fit the suzuki frame... wasn't easy. Lots of pounding with a hammer and streching the tank, but it fits and i really like the look!

Cool, you going to do anything about venting the box for your RR? not sure if it will overheat in there on you. What I would suggest is to cut a square out of the back, turn the RR around and put the fins out the square so the heat can escape, Make sense? Any way I like the box.

Cheers,

Maritime

Thanks Maritime, i wasn't sure if they could actually over heat, i think im going to paint the RR black and bolt it outside from the previous bolt holes.

Neat idea! But is it red or amber?
I hate to see "Johnny Law" get you on a technicality.
Maybe paint the inside of it red...
or the outboard lens off a 71-72?
