are you running a cush drive on your rear wheel?

negative. did a lot of reading and many people don't see the benefits over the expense. do you have some added knowledge on the matter you'd care to share or were you just wondering?

another little update, swingarm and linkage pc'd and ready to ship. looks great.

i was just wondering, i was hoping to be educated by you, haha. i had been looking at getting some harley wheels for a future build, as i really like the look of their drastic drop center. however, harley wheels have no cush drive, so i've been trying to figure out how my bike would react if i lost the cush. i know i could buy just a harley rim and have it laced to a hub, but i thought it'd be easier just to get a whole wheel setup in one fell swoop.

what are you currently running cush drives on?

pretty excited this morning for some pictures to roll in of the progress on my tank. almost finished, just need to clean it up a bit and get it back to me. NEXT QUESTION, should I have him shave the badges on the sides, or keep them and run the Honda logos. thoughts are appreciated fellas

That's lookin' good.

Kind of depends what you plan to do for paint - I shaved the badges on mine and I regret it.

yeah would have to see how close the badges got to the edge of the knee dent as well.. paint was thinking black with gold accent, or maybe all black with gold logos. im thinking id like to keep the badges maybe cause I don't want the tank to just be plain, or with some minor gold accents on it.

got my parts back from powder and everything looks good, had a chance to lace up the front wheel and get the rear tire mounted. will get the front trued maybe this weekend so I can get the bike on two wheels, it's definitely been a while.

81 kz440 and 72 cb350.

idk I feel like if you're beating the shit out of the your bikes all the time, that might be necessary to run the cush drive.. but I don't even know if your's or my bike even has enough power for it to matter.. I could be wrong.

The one you picked up looks like a later 550 tank. I am actually putting an earlier 550 tank on mine and it fits fine.

I did have to have Junior (OldSkool) move the petcock bung aft because it hit the cylinder head. Notice how far forward the petcock is in the pic of the one you got.

hey guys, so the tank will be coming back soon and i have a question on the issue that was brought up a while back by flugs.. i need to move the petcocks further back for engine clearance reasons, and im wondering if i cant seal one side up, slide the other back and just run a single petcock with a splitter? some light on the issue would be great. thanks fellas.

hmmm, interesting points. anyone else got anything to add to this matter?

Stock CB450 petcock has two outlets - one for each carb, this petcock may fit you tank, depending upon the thread size.

I am running a single outlet petcock on my CB450 with a splitter, and an inline fuel filter just before the splitter - all works fine.

a great day in the shop yesterday, got a buddies recently picked up GS450 running and took it for a spin yesterday, seemed to be falling on its face a bit under load, but needs new plugs etc.. BUT BUT even better yet, I finally got my wheels coated, trued, mounted, and back on the bike for a look at this thing on two wheels. what a relief to finally see it upright. will most likely sneak the motor in this weekend for a mock up. I do however need to have some material shaved off the back sides of the caliper for fitting, they just barely touch the spokes.
