Post a pic of your latest purchase

Hah, I was making sure everyone was still awake last night . . . Hard to put a price on these old machines, but for sanity's sake, Tim is correct ;) Did I mention the frame/engine numbers match? :D

Got the bench seat off in prep. for the solo seat. The rear fender and frame under the seat, which have never been exposed, were coated with a film of no idea what- took lots of elbow grease and 1/2 gallon of gasoline to get it off. The paint underneath is excellent, thankfully. FWIW, gasoline is one of the best goo removers- it is safe on paint.

After seat removal and a bit more polishing:

Met the original owner at the DMV to get the title taken care of. The title was an original Wisconsin title, took the lady at the DMV 5 minutes to figure out how to fill it out and even then she had to improvise.

The fellow said he had a '53 Harley and he traded it on the R60 when it was new. The reason- shaft drive. He said the chain drive on the Harley was continually filling with Wisconsin sand at the lake where they had a summer house. Thank you Harley Davison ;) As an engineer, he also liked how the front suspension was designed so that when the suspension compressed and released it did not directly impact the headlight positioning while on the road.

When I asked if he had any literature or the original manual he said that it was in the storage compartment in the side of the gas tank but he had lost the key- it is like a treasure chest.

Denfeld solo seat on the way. Hope to have it back on the road this weekend.

There is a spot in the garage reserved next to younger cousin:

Even at an order of magnitude higher its still a helluva deal.
Buckeye I want to see a picture of your whole collection at some point.

I have always wanted one of these :)

It's not that impressive- I just like old bikes ;D Presently, I have the bikes all over the place, even in the dining room (haha) as we are preparing to build a new house and are living temporarily in the farmhouse on our property. When the new house is done, I will get them together for a family photo. I have to wait until the house is done and my wife is happy. So far the strategy of spreading them out has worked- if I put them in one place, she will be able to count them ;)

I like the way you think ;)

If you buy smart, like that R60, the collection appreciates in value every day. It's an investment that you can enjoy much more than any stock or bond :)

Isa that your new ride? Looks like an M (75) with pods, stock carbs and an OMAR's Torque Canon exhaust. Nice. Welcome to the triple club.

Bought some pancake filters to replace the cheap, shit, bent, chinese pods that came with my bike!

Should clean up nicely!

Bit the bullet and picked up a bell rs-1 with transition shield. Pretty solid deal at moto gp. Paid 270 for the lid and 90 for the shield.

Yes, pods with stock carbs, I will probably change the carbs. Not sure about the chamber, it is supposed to be good for low to mid power and I think I would rather have top end power but they sound very nice so who knows. Do you have any advice for this triple?
