Say hello to the Bad Van.

1985 Chevrolet G10 Shorty. Custom interior with wood paneled walls and a bed in the back. Plans are paint, Cragar SS's, Side pipes, and some air shocks in the back to jack it up a bit.

And shagpile carpet and psychedelic paint scheme for the full effect. Come on. You know you want to.....

All jesting aside, vans are the most useful vehicles invented.

What you call jesting, I call good ideas! Well maybe not the shag... at least not really long shag...

But seriously. It's getting the old school treatment. Thinking something along these lines:

The guy with that van is somewhat local, going to see if I can get hooked up with his painter.

Man, I would love to have a 70's van, done up as a period-correct custom. I gave it a go one time. Bought a '73 Dodge 150 van,
off of a craigslist ad, for five hundred bucks, or something like that. It was at an impound, the owner didn't have the money to get it back. I got the title and keys and went to get it. It made the hour-long trip back home, but it ended up being a total bucket of rust. Nothing like the ad / pictures depicted it to be. I sold it. Haven't had the motivation to try to find another one, but God, would I love to have a nice one....

Not really a new purchase, but I finally mounted up the bags I've had forever.

That should make those long distance rides a little easier, eh?

That's the plan! Get some of that weight lower to the center of gravity, plus no totally '70s sissy bar half-assed on there.

We called them "Fuck Trucks". Back in the late '70s I worked in a "custom" body shop after school. I sanded and primered so many vans for them to lay murals on it ain't funny. I even remember doing one like this but not so "cartoonish". Ours literally looked like a real chop next to the van.... but you get the idea

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has bought starter, tach, speedo, plugs, Speedo removal spacers, VM manifolds and had carbs done.
It's allowing me to continue hobby even though I've been unemployed for almost a year
I just picked up a folding workbench from Costco.
It even comes with a pair of clamps.
I think its going to be very useful, has a 1000lbs weight limit, (I could put complete bike on it and only be about 1/3 the way to that ;D )
Also bought a Craftsman toolbox as I'm running out of storage (and places to put stuff) would have liked to get a big rolling cabinet but don't have anywhere to put it unless I sell off 3~4 bikes ???
