The weather this morning was nice enough to roll
The Bride (as in, "the Bride of Frankenstein") outside to record my progress over the winter.
I'm building this to use up all the random spare parts I had collecting dust on my garage shelves. Some of the stuff I've had for over 15 years. The frame is a '74 Panther DB175, built by Taiwanese company Shin San Tong (SST). The engine is an electric-start LCT StormForce 208 (6.5HP Honda GX clone) originally intended for a Husqvarna snowblower: $99 brand new off Ebay. At the front is a 16" VTR250 inboard disc wheel mounted in reversed GS650L cruiser forks, with a Maxim 700 fender. Rear wheel is from an EX500, mounted in a '76 YZ125C swingarm with shocks from the front of a Chinese 110 kids four-wheeler. Tank a '77 Can-Am Qualifier. Footpegs are off a Honda ATC90. With the CVT transmission, there won't be any foot controls; I am hooking the rear brakescooter-style, with the rear master cylinder on the left-hand side of the handlebar. The hard stuff is done, but there's still all those little details you need to work through. It probably won't be finished any time soon, but I make a little progress on it here and there, when I can.
