Project GOLDWING

comming along nice Joe. Man this makes me want to get a wing to do. I love how it is sitting there all stripped down. Not the best bike to make a cafe but I love the idea. thing would be a beast. Stoked to see more progress

well you may get to see it in person! we were talking last night... I start my welding class next month, i may make him a trailer hitch, then on the trailer we will toss either my CB350 bob or the cafe... then we may just ride down when we come by you. ill ride my harley and he will ride this pulling the other bike, the girls will hop on back. we will have to see how she is getting along when we start to get closer. wait till you see all the work into the plastics. i will snap some pictures, you will see this sucker that is for sure!

A small trailer on back with a bike in it would be over the top Lincoln Hawk style!

Hell Yeah! I was wondering when you were going to update this one!

Discovery Channel called and they are throwing around the idea of starting a docu-drama on lite'em up customs!

have to be HBO, with as much as Sean and i cuss eachother as we work discovery would cancell us in a second... plus whenever my brother and i work together i know the right way, he knows his way, and then my dad knows the way it should be done... like watching a bunch of gorillas in a small cage... ha ha ha but it is so much fun!
we have had people come in our shop to rent oven time while we where working and ask if Sean and I hate eachother. we are like hell no why you say that? guess people have never worked that close with a busn partner that is as detail orianged as we are... i am telling you come on it man... i have buddies come into the shop as we work (on our own projects not customers) and just hang out and have some drinks and laugh... it is truely a show!

I hear you on the "brotherly love". My brother is only 18 months younger and me, hes not bad with mechanics but I've been doing it a lot longer so he takes a back seat. He owns his own renovation company and knows the trade more than I do. He's put me in my place once or twice. lol

How the hell did I miss this build thread! Nice to see my GL1100 "Bomber" has another sister here...
Carb flooding is a common problem, float stuck or bad o-ring in the plenum that feeds from one bank to the other. look for gas pooling in the plenum. Randall Washington is the guru http://www.randakks.com/ and there is also Pistol Pete http://www.oldwings.com/services.html

Here is a couple more sites full of info.
Free download Mother Honda Service and Parts Manuals - http://www.goldwingdocs.com/index.asp
Naked Goldwings changed their domain name, now its http://www.ngwclub.com/ More info on early 'wings than you can imagine. Custom of stock... (I'm Hoosier Daddy there too!)
Then a site that caters strictly to our GL1100 only, recently crashed and is slowly rebuilding is http://classicgoldwings.com/ There is a thread there on your Alternator conversion (Again, I'm Hoosier Daddy)
Any help I can give let me know but looks like you got it all under control!
