That kicker pedal is smokin'!

(Literally)

as it turns out, drilling stainless welded over hardened steel is not very easy. I had originally planned on making two of these, but I put the other one on my BMX after this pain in the ass.

exhaust progress. I had ordered FMW left side high stainless pipes, but they fit terribly and I had a few changes in mind, so I've been hacking them up and making my own, more improved pipes:

I raised the right side pipe up so it wouldn't hit the downtube (thanks FMW!), but I needed it higher anyway.

then I raised the left side to match. Both are turned in - snug to the bike so I don't burn my leg on those fast right turns. more to come - they still need a lot of work.

I extended the exhaust turn-out so I don't cook my oil tank. I like how it pokes out behind my leg when seated

Wow, that swingarm looks really long on there... Like a drag bike kinda.

not intentional. believe it or not, this was a budget build and I bought the swing arm as a damaged unit for $30 on ebay. I was considering shortening it, but decided not to in the end. people might mistake my bike for a fast one, and this picture doesn't have the rear fender mounted - which also takes up a little of the empty space.

pre-unit triumph fender. This fender is probably worth more not on my bike, but I got it for free from a friend and I like having OEM parts when possible. also, a cameo of the floating rear caliper carrier i machined.

I keep hearing all this talk about "back pressure" needed for power on a Triumph engine, and how my pipes are too open. I get myself a stainless cone to reduce from 2.25" to 1.5" - basically an expansion chamber.

welded back up and you can't even tell I installed it.

crooked locking fual cap. unacceptable.
dscn0599n.jpg

cut that right out and weld it straight.

bondo.

it's actually straighter than pictured - it has a little wiggle room.

thank you. I have real tight fitment on a lot of things (carb, oil tank, primary drive, my own leg) and would have done them a lot different if I could go back in time - but at this point I think they'll work well enough for my needs.

another picture I forgot to post.

candy gold powdercoat over chrome is a better idea than chrome on my headlight ring. speaking of bad ideas, try not to scratch the shit out of your fork tubes when you install your triple trees.
