Started on a offset reverse cycle smoker. A friend gave me an electric hot water cylinder that had never been used as it was rejected during manufacture. It is a bit lighter than ideal but cost nothing, the internal surface is vitreous enamelled. It is 20" diameter and 30" long (online calculators are in imperial units). Now need to get some 4mm plate to close it up.

Do need to add handles and put a couple of screws to hold the chimney.
When I left all the air vents open, the temp reached 220C = way too hot. Once I closed the air vents 80% it settled at 120C which is perfect. Baked the paint on with this trial. Plan to cook this weekend.

All day event - cooking on the smoker. On the menu was beef brisket and a pork loin (would have preferred a pork neck or shoulder). Both dry rubbed last night and then 9hrs at around 115C. Pulled it, and then made up some wraps with coleslaw and home made BBQ sauce.

I had the pleasure(?) of rebuilding the fuel system in a buddies YJ yesterday.
It developed a small leak in the fuel line, so he parked it... three years ago. Pulled/drained/cleaned the tank, flushed all the hard lines, and replaced all the rubber lines. Dropped in a new battery and she fired right up ;D

Sort of a mini project... only took a hour or so.
I picked up a big box of these 20W LED auxiliary lights about two years ago and for reasons I've yet to discover, they're a really slow seller. No one seems to want a set.
Anyway, I figured I'd mount some up on my own bike to hopefully generate some interest.
I put them onto the FJR this weekend, using the fender bolts to hold the brackets for the lights. I installed a toggle switch on my dash so that could be controlled separately.
Those rural roads are going to be brighter than they used to be.

Wow matt those are nice and bright. How much for a set? I've been thinking of something like that to mount to the GL crash bars. Just looked, $35 for one with brackets is reasonable. I could probably just mount one on my fork brace and it would prob be enough. I'll take a look at my options tonight. Going to do the timing on the GL I hope tonight.
