In any case, I've found the "lean" tools to be just as useful as the full toolset. When you get to experimental designs it gets really interesting. I'm in manufacturing so I get to use them all the time but it's surprising to me how often I think about using the tools in every day life. A simple run chart of gas mileage is a great indicator of maintenance needs.

My job is to cut offline edits, that's getting the shots in place, making the structure of the film, 'tell the story' as they say. Then it goes to the VFX guys and colourists to make it look rad.
