89 cbr600 Baby Fighter! *Stage 2 Initiated!*

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

the rain is killing us but who are we to complain living out here in so cal. my girls car got flooded though :'( and a few neighbors houses got damaged. the bike looks really good love the colors. belly pan will set it off. are you thinking about painting it red or gold?

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

Yeah, looking good man! Here are a few idea for you to ponder on.
Belly pan painted same as tank and tail
The chrome ring on the light, paint it the same color as tank and tail (I like that light by the way)
Paint rear sproket with black epoxy
And swap for a more modern front fender painted black

I happen to have a more modern front fender from a 95 CBR600, PM me if your interested, I will make you a sweet deal on it!

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

i like your headlight too and i love the red and bronze theme BUTTTT i think a v-rod headlight would be the balls on this bike along with the more modern front fender.

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

Thank you for the kind words guys!

The next few mods will be on hold. I wan to get out of debt first (haha!) so the bike will remain at this stage for a few months. The belly pan will definitely be red.

Some future mods:
Stainless overflow bottle
Acewell speedo/tach
belly pan
v rod headlight or stacked dominators
different front fender

You guys pretty much hit the nail in the head with the mods list! I'll be screwing around with performance mods (exhaust/jetting, sprockets) in the future. I just can't wait to ride this thing!!

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

Why go with a SS overflow bottle, it is hidden now and you have no other SS on your bike! I say leave it hidden but if you have to change, it I say go gold!

If you don't touch it until your out of debt, well your done modifying! Hahaha, its america man, live in debt or die! :D
I know someone with a cool front fender and its cheap! ::)
ME!

Please don't go with some alien robot face headlight or stacked dominators! :-\ Classic round looks way better on your style fighter! V-rod, ok, but your one now looks good to me!

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

LOL Twisted! So true about America.

The stainless bottle I actually have is red which matches the tank and seat. But you're right, I might leave it hidden for a while. Do you have any pictures of the fender? I'm interested >:).

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

Click on the link to parting out and my build thread link from my sig, lots of pics of the CBR in both. It will need painting but it is in good shape other than that. Check it out and if you think you may want it shoot me a PM, will be glad to work something out for you!

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

agreed twisteds front fender would look way better on there! i dig the gold looks great man!!! nice work! bike is looking better and better... a belly pan would tie the paint into the lower section of the bike a big more

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

Okay so it's been a while since I've posted in my thread! I've been riding this beast around and I'm currently learning some wheelies haha!

This bike has seriously changed my style of riding. I'm a lot more aggressive now, or maybe the word I'm looking for is "stupid"? Haha, I'm actually not a wreckless rider, I just like to have fun.

But anyway, I'm really becoming unsatisfied with the way this bike came out. It does not truly reflect who I am. So my plan is to DO MORE WORK on the thing! But first I have to get out of debt. It sucks because I've been really itching to giving this thing a face lift.

Anyway, I plan to do something major the bike and here's a list:
- Chop off the old subframe and make my own (I need a welder)
- Swap some cbr600rr forks, front and rear wheels. (or and f2 wheel so I can slap on a fatter tire).
- fabricate my own tail piece.
- Engine work
- Clean up the wiring harness
- Do something different with the exhaust.

So yeah I pretty much want to tear into this thing more when winter comes and when the debt is paid off. The next update probably won't come for a while. When the time comes, it will be epic!

What? Totally wrong place to ask a question like this. Might move it over to 1-800-cafe help.

But keep up the good work Goodfornothing!

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

Woah that post is totally out of place!

But thank you Big R! CUTE GIRL IN THE LIBRARY. Sorry I just got distracted. But anyway, keep checking back at the thread, I'll be asking a few questions about if certain swaps work or not. Giggity.

I've got a 4 slice toaster that toasts one side quicker than the other. Any ideas how to fix this??

Re: 89 cbr600 Baby Fighter!

nice work! looks way better!

I saw the thread of the guy who's pics you posted (the red one w/ belly pan) on the cbr forum and liked that bike as well.

I have had only Honda cb's from the early 70's, since I was 16. bout 13 of em. but like you I just bought an 89 cbr600 last year. my first modernish bike. it only had 9k miles when I got it! I've put 4.5k on it already since. but I'm rebuilding my current cb right now, so I have to ride the cbr.

I thought about doing something like what you're doing, but it has a full fairing and it would be a shame to ruin it, so I'm gonna give it a paint job and possibly strip and polish the wheels. then sell it to buy another modernish bike. prob keep gettin nice bikes w/ crap paint jobs, and fixin em up. just to try out different stuff. maybe a Buell this time. would be my first non-honda.

keep up the good work, love the shade of red!

btw, I just painted my Gfriends bike. used Honda 'Milano Red'. it's a beautiful deep shade. makes the red on my other bike look orange.
