The exhaust is stock (I believe)... It is how I got it anyway...

little long for my taste. how would you upholster it? It would be nice to make the transition more of a curve in to the seat that a 90*. Love the seat pan tho. I agree with you, it looks cool enough that I would want to keep it but the 'ol bum wouldn't like it too much. :)

I was just checking the profile of it. It probably won't sit that far back in the end. The plan is for an upholstered 2up seat. The rear hump will cover the back part of the seat the majority of the time when there is no passenger.

Another shot of the tank I am using as a rear end, cut apart and stripped of paint...

I like it has a nice look to it ! Think i would maybe run some nice black molding along the edge near the carbs ... just a thought !

Graham, I'm diggin' your rear seat hump! I've been wanting to do the same thing but I don't have the funds for another '69 cb350 tank, or the heart to cut it up.

The bike and side covers look sweet! I really like the tanks on these older 350s with the wing emblems indented and all!

Thanks... Yeah, I want to do something with that edge, or perhaps frame it out all the way around. I'm still tossing around a few ideas. My typical problem is that my ideas greatly surpass my fabrication skill. So I have to force myself to think in reasonable terms. LOL

Thanks man, I really like my 350 tank. When i first picked it up, I didn't know the difference. Now that I have seen some more with the later rounded tanks, I am ver glad I have this one. For the bump I didn't cut up another 350 tank. It was a big tank with some similar profile lines. (cx500 I think) A buddy snapped it up for me at an estate sale, because he knew I was looking to cut a tank apart. I lucked out that the shape worked for me.

maybe use the same kind of trim they use around a fairing shield on sport bikes? cant cost to much... think it would frame it in nice and save the inside of your leg with out takeing away from your craftmanship ....

Not a bad idea. I've have a couple other ideas I'm exploring as well...

I like the up close shot but far away seems a bit large. Maybe trim the bottom a little... just my 2 cents?

You could rivet or bolt on an aluminum edge trim like this (#10) http://www.mcmaster.com/#aluminum-trim/=g2cv3k

or one of these : http://www.mcmaster.com/#trim-molding/=g2cu02

side cover is not bad but i think it is missing something... maybe some paint work or move the tank badging down there to it

Okay, so I had a chance to work back into the sidecovers I made. I came up with this. I think it is an improvement. In fact this kind of industrial treatment is tits to me. Any thoughts?

the side covers are awesome. maybe give them a light mist coat of black paint and then sand most of it to give it the antiqued partial "patina" as the tank and sprocket cover have. i guess youd call it an "aged look".. just an idea. looks great man.
