i do have that too! But still have not worked out the issue yet. the changes done before this problem happen was the exhaust and also the performance air filter.

it was ok at the time with the combination of stock exhaust, stock air box and Mikuni VM22-133.

tried adjust the air/fuel screw but no luck, and spark plug os telling me running too rich.

I don't understand - what compression problem?

Have you made any recent changes to the engine?

Crazy

I have not make any change to engine except changing back to normal spark plug from iridium. Everything about performance on my ace is stock. Now im back to iridium plug and my ace sometimes have difficulty to start up .. even when the engine is hot ..
He told me that he have tune the carb to make it easy to start .. but til now its not as easy as the past ..
Skyteam agent mech told me that its the electrical problem .
So i don know what to do now.

A warning to those who are not using an air filter on their 'Ace'!

Specially for ACEitup:

Compression, carburettor, electrical - there isn't much else to go wrong!

A stock 'Ace' shouldn't be hard to start. I removed the choke, including the butterfly, and had no trouble starting even in a Sydney winter.

It was so easy to kickstart I saved a bit over 2kg in weight by removing the starter motor etc.

It sounds like the mechanics are making guesses. A stock motor with standard jets and correct valve clearances should have no starting problems.

What sort of fuel are you using? I was running 95RON with the 125.

Crazy

finally got my pair of decent tire, probably the first and only Michelin M62 in HK.

My carb was change by skyteam offical personal when they came to singapore so im no longer using stock carb .. they change to shengway carb. the problem starts when i change spark plug to normal plug .. but now ive change back to iridium and the problem still continues.
When my 1st start up when changed to normal spark plug i could not use electric start to start but can kick start easily. then my mech suspect that the spark plug was not good. so i change back to denso iridium plug and the problem is fixed for a short period. and now it comes back again. but not as worst as the 1st time i change to normal plug.

Hi, To check that the mixture screw is right first you have to have a warm engine. Then speed up the tick over a bit more than normal to make sure bike will run during adjustments (but not to much). While bike is running you slowly turn mixture screw in until revs start to drop, then out again slowly until revs get to there highest. If revs start to drop again then you have gone to far, and need to go back a bit, When happy slow down your tick over to normal. This is a good indication then that mixture is correct on air screw, Tad.

i also suspecting the mixture screw is wrong .. after reading i still don understand how to get it right

More posts... I did not enjoy removing the cat...! If I had the option for a cheap header in Australia I would have bought it hands down.

Carb rejet was a bit trickier on the stock exhaust. Couldn't get a good idle until the new exhaust and cat went in. Enjoying the look of the exhaust wrap.
