74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

Fired this thing up for the first time last night. It started pretty easily. Any chance someone has tried pe24 carbs on a cb200 since I last checked in? I need all the tuning tips I can get.

74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

Its been a while since I touched the bike. Moved to a new house in June and its been in the corner since. Just needs some choke buttons put on and the gas lines rerouted and then should be ready to fire up for the 1st time. Its been so long, its hard to remember, but I think the rear tire is...

74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

OK, I checked out some fork braces but all the cool ones are for dirtbikes and won't fit. I'm saving the fender so I can cut the brace out later if needed....its just sooooo ugly. I seriously plan to cruise this thing around town like a scooter, so I'm not too worried. My tank is already...

74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

Getting close...just waiting for a few more parts to arrive and need to mod the throttle cable for length. Got some barrel nipples in the mail today and am going to try to solder them on the original cables after shortening. Got some Uni filters that are jammed against the frame but fit, too...

74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

Am I winning the award for longest project yet? All wired up (I think). Need to make a tail light and plate bracket and then all the other obvious things like carbs, cover the seat, get some levers and cables.

Rewiring - What to do with that 3rd generator coil on a cb200?

I'm rewiring my cb200's headlight with a DPDT switch. But after some research it looks like originally the yellow and yellow/whites wires were routed through the original headlight switch so that when turned on it added a 3rd generator coil which I guess gave more current for the light. Read...

Not really, but trying to get back at it to get it done before June. 2nd Kid + selling a house = no time for bikes.

    '75 cb200t cafe build

Looking good. Just wondering who you went with for the cables and which brake switch you got? I need to get those ordered for my bike, too.

I didn't cut any off of the forks, just lowered them about an inch and a half through the trees and clamped the bars on. I seriously doubt you could get the rear wheel in the front.

Do you have a link to the levers you ordered that have a brake switch hole? I am having a hard time finding any simple drum brake levers that are drilled for a switch. Someone pointed me to the old Triumph brake cable with the inline switch and was thinking of using that instead.

    Seat suggestions for Honda cb200

One more idea...looked at your intro post and saw the cool pipes you have..kind of reminded me of this bike a little: http://www.yellowmc.jp/cgi-bin/custom/find.cgi?mode=disp&no=43&item=all&adrs=&price=&page=36 You could maybe make and attach a little aluminum cowl like that to your skateboard...

    Seat suggestions for Honda cb200

At one point I considered the Vic Camp here: http://www.clubmanracing.com/cafeseats.php Also liked the DUCS1 from Airtech. But my vote is to keep that seat you made...it is badass and will look great on the bike.

    My (almost) free cafe seat!

Here is something to shoot for: From the builder of this seat..."Take a wok lid. Cut and bend to shape. Rivet to slightly cut-down original seat pan."

Picking up a bit after not touching the bike all summer. Cut down the bars a little and you can kind of see my seat pan in these pics.

74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

Well after cracking my wooden workbench where my vise is attached while trying to bend the arm, I figured I should check my parts bike. I felt lucky when I saw the heat marks on the parts bike arm....just tried it on the main bike and it clears the muffler by a quarter inch :)

Yeah I don't know if I'm into a handstart very much. I think I'll just have to get someone to help me bend it out.

74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

I need my kick start arm to be bent out about an inch to clear the muffler. Anyone have any ideas if any other Honda arms would bolt right on and have a bit of curve to get me around it?

74 cb200 - Mistakes have been and will be made

Sorry, I don't get much done in the summer. And I bought a 64 f100 that needs a bunch of work, too, but it's getting nowhere fast as well. I am am about 3/4 way through the wiring. Just took the stock harness apart and cut out everything I didn't need. This is the lower portion of my seat pan...
