1980 CM400, my first attempt at a cafe bike.

Check my sig links. I used the Dime City rearsets. I could have gotten away with the cheaper Loaded Gun ones, but I got the Dime City set for the adjustments in case I needed them. I used their linkage set, too, but had to buy some more tubing and threaded rod to make the brake linkage, as the...

1980 CM400, my first attempt at a cafe bike.

Re: 1980 CM400, my first attempt at a cafe bike. Gotta love the CM's. They were the ugly bastard child a couple of years ago, and now they're pretty popular. Lots of good info on here about them. Congrats and good luck!

    1974 CB125S restomod with 200cc Lifan

Yeah, I never found an OHC version to use. They're kinda scarce around here as is.

    1974 CB125S restomod with 200cc Lifan

Sorry, just now saw the replies. She's had it to 75. I could probably get more with some different gearing, but she likes the power it has now. It pulls the front wheel if you shift quickly. All I had to do for the swap was remake a top motor mount and rewire the bike. Only real trouble was...

    First bike

Nice bike! Looks great for a CM400 especially! That's one of the nicer seat mods I've seen.

    Cm400t rejet help

I finally got my carbs straightened out(mostly), but only by running genuine K&N filters. You need the 54mm version, I used part number RC-2330. I think I wound up with 125 and 78 jets if I remember right, but I could probably stand to go to an 80, as I have just a hint of off-idle hesitation. I...

    Doing the 1/3 Ton - 1978 GL1000

Re: Re: Doing the 1/3 Ton - 1978 GL1000 Lol, it is an 883. I don't know what I want to replace it with yet. I just don't want the payment right now, and it's so damn expensive to do anything with the EFI bikes. My old CM400 is getting ridden more now, and gets a lot more looks in a town full...

    Doing the 1/3 Ton - 1978 GL1000

The more I see of these Goldwings the more I want one. Lol. Maybe if I can unload my Sportster.... On a side note, my wife got her little CB125 to 75 mph the other day, and was excited about doing the 3/4 ton, as she put it. One of the funniest things I'd heard in a while! Lol.

just joined and have a cm400t

Another CM400 guy! I think I'm going to buy another just for fun. Lol. There's tons of stuff you can do with these bikes, now especially after some people have started messing with them more. I'm sure you've found the MASSIVE thread here, but also be sure to check out Hondatwins.net for more...

ugly duckling CM400T build - Calling it finished

Re: ugly duckling CM400T build Nice to see you're back at it! I must have wound up with a later year swingarm or something, because mine was an inch wider than the stick CM arm. Got lucky with the axle I bought and it came with the stock spacers. Wound up using the bigger brake side spacer...

    125cc to 150cc engine swap

Re: 125cc to 150cc engine swap Sounds like it's out of time. Maybe 180 degrees out if it's trying to backfire through the carb like that. I'm unfamiliar with the timing marks on that engine, though.

    125cc to 150cc engine swap

I'd honestly convert the bike to CDI. Better ignition, charging, less maintenance. Just my .02

HONDA CG ENGINE SWAP.... CRF 230?

I did the Lifan OHV swap on a CB125 with no real problem. Had to make a top motor mount is all. I'm thinking the CG has the OHV style motor, too, doesn't it? Should be a bolt in deal if it is. The CRF230 looks like it could work, too. It seems to have the same style top mount, with the bole...

    Finished building my wife's CB350

Cool bike. Very authentic vintage look. Like it!

    CB250 Cafe project

Cool little bike! Have you considered lowering the front slightly? An inch would probably give it a little meaner stance. Looks a lot better than I gave the Nighthawk credit for, though!

First bike, first build, first post!

I wouldn't change a lot. Maybe the headlight and lower bars, but I like the overall look. Cool bike!

Re: CM400C Cafe Garage Build - Seat complete - New Photos

Re: My Precious - CM400C Cafe(ish) - Seat Pan Time Looks about like the first one I bought. Got another one on there now, and got the suspension finished a couple of weekends ago. Think I'm gonna fix and repaint the other tank now, but I'm really liking the rough look of this one for now. I...

    Any Kentuckians here?

I know this thread is a little dead, but I just found it. Lol. I lived in Mount Sterling for a good while, and now live in Lexington with my wife. We both have cafe bikes, and just got back from a ride in the northern part of the state with the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club. We're trying to...

    81 CM400 Resurection

Re: 81 CM400 Resurection Had my CM set up that way for a while after I first got it. Almost exactly, to the exhaust and all. But yours looks a lot nicer! I just tell everyone I'm going for the gritty cafe racer look on mine now. Lol

    CM400 Re-Re-rebuild.

Ok, so after all the research and thinking I was good with the CX500 fork brace, the first bump I hit my front forks bound up and wouldn't move. Took the center of the brace out, and it popped right back up again. It was a little tight going on, but I still had everything loose, so it must have...
