CB360 - Monoshock Brat

I would rather see the bike with one of those mufflers on either side

But 2-1 has better sound and Perfomance

good looking bike so far, keep it up.

What was the one guys name from the first Mad Max, Toe Cutter right?

Maybe we should call this bike the Nut Cutter ;)

Love the bike man and the new pipes look awesome.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. I feel like I'm on track to taking her for a ride next weekend if all goes well. Of course that really means 2 weekends, you know how that goes.

New brake shoes....and...I've got a roller again.

I painted the wheels with black duplicolor wheel paint and the local shop mounted the tires for me. I'm happy to say the front tire fits nicely.

What size did you go with on front?
Not the 110 you mentioned earlier?
Whatever it is, it's too wide for the 1.60 rim, the beads are 'pinched' and sidewalls angled/bulging

I would have to agree, doesn't look safe. With that pinch and no fork brace your front end is gonna be as stable as jello..

now that is pure hotness right there! idk what to tell you about the tires. i always thought the "pinch" was a poor idea, but then a buddy of mine bought huge tires for his honda cb400. i told him it was a bad idea, but the cycle shop that put the tires on said as long as the bead mounted on the tire, it would be fine.

Yeah, each shop as their own tech's that think differently and I'm glad you at least noted it to him, and the simple "if it fits it ships" idea from the Post office isn't the best approach ;D. Compound, it does look rad, but I would heed some of the warnings here.

The way some shops operate this doesn't surprise me, they will say anything to get your cash, and maybe get to replace stuff when you either crash or fid out it doesn't really work.
If you search enough you'll find plenty of people on this site who refused to listen, spent way too much cash, then had to do things over. (pretty sure 'Willow' and 'Greta' were two bikes that totally evolved into something different and MUCH BETTER to correct newbie build faults?)
Yes, you can fit any tire to rim that will fit between fork legs or inside swing arm
If you put enough air in it it will increase the stability, but, at recommended pressure it WILL roll around all over the place.
Side to side movement isn't a good thing on a motorcycle

Yep, I'm running a WM6 and a WM4 combo (110/130 combo). I learned the importance of this because of this site and info from PJ back in the day. Never ran too small of a hoop, I was scared to! Look at it this way: good excuse to upgrade to alloy hoops. You can get them in pre powdered black from Mike's XS for cheap

Wow, I didn't realise you had gone that wide on the rims, sound s REAL expensive ;)
No wonder it looks so good 8)

Yeah, excel hoops and Buchanan's spokes. Not cheap, but you only live once, right? Sad thing is, front is coming apart soon to replace the drum brake with a cbr rotor (using the adapter I bought from you) and Brembo caliper and master off of a KTM...stock works but it ain't a modern brake!

Thanks man. How do his tires ride now? Still working out well?

The tech at the shop didn't blink twice about mounting up the front tire, but I realize I shouldn't trust them in the first place. I really appreciate the advice and I'll quest for finding a safer replacement (tire or rim). But for now, and my first ride around the block when I get her started. It's gonna be with this tire.

Run it around 40psi.
I would go with WM3 rim for 110/90 tyre (in fact, I do ;D )
110/80 with lower sidewall puts bead at a different angle and is actually less stable than a 90 series
Maybe get a smaller tyre and wider rim then keep the 110/80 as a spare for rear (and a WM3 for rear to replace the WM2)

just to clarify, i didn't jump on board as soon as i heard a shop said it would be fine, haha. i realize they have a job to do and may cut corner's to get business, HOWEVER...he's been riding them for a while and hasn't had any adverse effects. i will say though, he bought the stiffest set of tires i'd ever seen, and those babies are pumped way up, so that may be helping him out. here's a crappy pic off my dumbphone, but it gives you an idea what he's running.

I'm pretty sure my front brake caliper is seized. Anyone have a lead on replacements for these? Found this is UK. Would love to find something in the states.

They're rebuildable. Get a seal and a stainless or a phenolic piston for it and a bleeder. Also, the return passage on your master cylinder could be the issue. It will pinch down on the caliper and not let the piston release. Pull the caliper and try compressed air to pop the piston out through the line inlet.

Assuming yours is rusted, this is the ticket. I've used the same one twice.

The originals are chromed and have a tendency to get pitted from rust.
