where does this go?

Upgrade to a set of tapered roller bearings. They will be "thicker" than the ball bearings, and may eliminate the need for a spacer. If not, at least a thinner spacer will be needed.

+1. I've used taller tapered bearings and fabbed my own cap to make up 1/2" before. Worked well.

You should probably use tapered bearings...

Fuck it. Don't use tapered bearings. Spend an hour machine something or getting someone else to machine something. That would be way easier.

I vote for no bearings. Just tighten it down real good. After you jig it up of course.

Just leather bearings soaked in tallow from a sacrificial cow which was beheaded with my grandfathers sword. Only way it’ll work.

Apparently all the leather got used for making riding crops and the tallow got used for...stuff. So I ordered some tapered bearings.

A set of CX500 trees and tapered bearings later it’s got a front end.

I think a new tank is in the works. The more I look at the one I bought the less I like it.

I bought a P-nut tank from low brow but my measurements of my back bone were off and it just didn't fit. This frame seems particularly unsuited for most of the bobber/chopper tanks out there. This tank that I have does have a wider tunnel than most of the others so I may just run with it.

You're welcome to either one of those tanks that came with my chopper, if one suits you. I won't use either of them.

Send me some pictures sometime. I can’t remember what tanks you got with that bike.

Long time no update. I’ve been slowly doing a few things. Ordered some parts and finally got them in. Picked this little tail light and mounted it on the fender. I’m not 100% sold on the look of these bars but the feel comfortable to me which is important. I can always change them later anyways. The headlight ears I bought are way too long. I’ve got this mount for a bottom lug headlight that came with the bike so I may get a bottom mount headlight, not sure yet. The rear tire wouldn’t hold air, turned out to be the tube leaking so I had that replaced. Still plugging along and hope to do more this weekend.

You can trim and redrill those ears pretty easy, but you'll want to paint or plastidip them after or they'll rust.
