Kawasaki 2 Stroke "Mongrel"

carefull drewski A kiss leads to a fuck once you get in to the ??? zone and befor you know it you got a useless monster

Thanks boys! ;D I musta gotten a huge sympathy vote this time around!! ;D I'll take it! ;)

The last thing I want is a useless h2 'cause the motor is too peaky. I know a guy who has one, and he might as well have a toggle switch for a throttle.

That said... you only live once!! ;D ;D

I know a few... :)
I've ridden Neil's bike, a stage III 150hp FBG motor. It seemed to have plenty of torque down low in comparison to my 500 but certainly not smooth or "streetable" for putting around town. I'm sure if you were always on the open road, it would be fine.
Jim Hobbs stage II H2 was ported even hotter and at the same time he added John Aylor's new H2 stage II reeds. His feedback was more power throughout the rev range, smooth as silk down low, without any noticeable loss up top...
Best of both worlds. ;)

It's funny with reeds... some love 'em and really recommend (Reds, Walms) 'em. Others (LC!!) are convinced that they're not the answer. I respect all those guys. I suppose I need to just suck it up and make a decision. ;)

Maybe I need to ride one to decide for myself!! Hmmmm....

"Hey Trevor... you out there??" ;D

Crankcase reeds are the ONLY way to go. Ask Magee :)

Skip straight past all the old seventies technology (sorry John A) and go straight to new millenium case reeds, multiple ports and maybe even try some powervalves just to mix it up a bit. Add programmable ignition and large flatslides or EFI and start breaking cases...... I'm sure that XCR800 barrels could be persuaded to fit with a little more welding and moving of studs etc..

It isn't my cash we're spending here :)

Jeez, sounds like you're spending my grandkids' inheritance there Teazer. :)

I have a ton of respect for LC, not many have been able to get a triple to work as well as he has with his... That said he is old school and his stance about reeds are just that. Not required. BUT, so far he is unwilling to do a 5k roll on against my bike, it's always hammer the shifter down twice and go. ;D
Case reeds pfft, rotary valves man!!! 8)

I've been down this road before.... It always ends up with using a modern sled motor, liquid cooled, power valves and case reeds.... 2003 Polaris 800 triple 150 hp stock and all you need to do is graft on a gearbox.
Basically a Tularis with the proper number of cylinders. ;)

It's simple logic and very seductive. Big bore triple sleds can make 250HP in the right hands or the wrong hands. Not many have been successfully transplanted into a bike though.

You know Brad... it's all about taking something that's good and making it better. ;)
