Kawasaki 2 Stroke "Mongrel"

Great videos Drew!
Is that Jim on the blue bike just in front of you?
Saw a link to the Barber pix.
Must have been a blast.

Wow... that's a lot of reading!! Haha! ;D

Thanks. It's been a really interesting process. Lot's of twists and turns, but I'm really excited with the end results.

I have so many to thank, too. In a very real way, you all have contributed to the Mongrel. Comments, advice, criticism... it all worked together to help in what we have today. 8)

And so it continues...

These things are never really finished... right?? :D

I think I need to get the wheels off and over to the powder coaters to get 'em painted satin black. :)

You think so??

Green jumps to mind with black stripe on lip but thats crazy talk  Black will do nicely then !!!

Haha! ;D

Green is cool, but I HATE washing my bikes!! It's gonna be black to hide the chain lube and dirt!! ;D

I agree on having black wheels.
I had gold for a while, and you need to keep light colours clean or they tend to look bad.
Black is good.

Thanks Texasstar! 8)

Still a few details to finish off, but I'm quite happy with it. :)

Drew,
Hope you're getting that suspension dialed in. Took mine for an early spring ride the other day and I'm sure it's stiffer than any of my race bikes. I'm putting that down to low ambient making the fluid viscous.

May not be true but it allows me to ignore the problem for a while. :)

Teazer,

Haven't done a thing over the winter. :p

We were having a tough time finding replacement springs for the FZ600 forks last summer. We need to get that end handled. I'll need a stiffer rear spring too, but that should be available from Penske. Just takes money. ;)

Right now both ends are way soft with a ton of travel. Surprising that it handles as well as it does. Because it's ride-able, I'm gonna leave it for now as other projects have my attention for the time being. I will get to it down the road however! :D

Well, I think I may have in my possession the next engine for the Mongrel! ;) Seaglider is zoned in on the "Black Bomber" drop in engine for the h1/750, so......

It needs some bit's like a new crank, pistons, rings, etc. I have a crank complete with rods, but I'll need to get new pistons and rings. Do you think I should get a little "hot rodding" done at the same time? Maybe bigger pistons... some porting? Reeds??

The "3rd Phase of the Mongrel" 8)

What say you?? ;D
