Post a pic of your latest purchase

So I've been a tad busy lately. Here's the more recent ones.

New chuck, Chuck adapter, and quick change tool post for the lathe. Gonna make things a tad less chattery.

New turn signals for Jenn's bike. Half installed already.

New mirrors for my bike. This will also make things a bit less chattery.

And the Bedlam Werks calender :) if you haven't, check these guys out. Great work and a eye for detail, and fun to hang out with too.

Not pictured are fork ears and seals for Jenn's bike. Lots of goodies lately, but bye bye hardtail money :-(

It's not that beefy.. I really wish I had room for a 6 jaw, but this little lathe isn't worth beefing up to the tune of a $1200 chuck :-/

Ha. A chuck costing more than the machine.

Stole this for a song today.

My province is mandating all off road vehicles have registration and insurance. Lots of bikes getting dumped.

Nice ride. I'll have one of these before I die.

Wow, B.C. is trying their best to overtake Quebec for the highest levels of legislation. You'd almost think there weren't more important things to worry about.

Well the problem is that there are lots of trails that were for dirtbikes or that dirtbikes frequented that were then setup for pedestrian use. There are more and more clashes between hikers, bikers, quads and dirtbikes.

Essentially you just pick the one activity that has the most money or the least children and legislate it to death or tax it to death.

Same thing is happening state by state here, godam socialists and insurance lobbyist picking the pockets of the people who built the trail systems. We have private land though and more and more land owners are riders allowing big tracks and woods courses be built... the AMA sure ain't no NRA.

Strangely enough it's rarely a socialist activity - more normal that it's Bidness looking to make $$$ or special interest groups that have influence and want to keep trails sacred for their special brand of hiking/birding whatever they are into. Damn shame fo sho.

BTW, the AMA ain't the AMA it used to be. Not sure WTF it stands for now. They gave away pro racing and are weak everywhere. That organization is a shadow of its former self, but it pays well at the top.

Vintage M/C days at Mid O used to be an AHRMA event and it was huge. Now it's AMA and like all things AMA is dwindling away. It's a shame.

On the way back through Charlotte, Mr E and I stopped at a flea market in Salisbury. Got me this pure leather hipster's wet dream for $10.

I'm only the 4th owner, behind my buddy who is selling it to me.(not bad, eh?).
We're deciding on payments and after I rode her today I was realizing the list of general maintenance items that need tended to.

How my day ended: Bike will go into gear, and when clutch is disengaged and the throttle rolled on, the bike immediately dies(at any rate) (checked the cable, so possible faulty clutch switch??)

But she is so unbelievably clean and once done with my girlfriends rear suspension rehab(95 Civic EX -"long story"), I'll knock this bitch out. I'll take a week to get a trusty runner, she is worth it. This bike has a sweet powerband in 4th around 6-7thou. The exhaust tone, even on stock exhaust is tasty. I need a better padded helmet on this bike because she is loud! Still, I can't wait to ride her after a carb clean, brake bleed, fork oil change, oil change, radiator flush and possible clutch control.

Was offered her on payments because he knows I've always loved this bike and he would love to put her in my hands(great friend, I tell ya!). He doesn't know much but trusts me since I've done odd jobs/carb work for him before. With what's ahead, I'll probably throw out a grand TOPS. I'm building my tool base and I'm set for anything this bike needs as far what is mentioned above. But parts are not free and that work will be time consuming. I'll post when I get into it in a week or so. Probably will call it,
"86' Ninja 600-1 week to make her a daily".

That's all for tonight, hope all is well.

Cool 600... Rolled one off the showroom floor in 87 and immediately proceeded to ride it from Nort Colorado to South Florida, hit Elpaso TX and the rain started and never stopped the rest of the way, great little back breaker!!

Add valve shim adjustment to the list, the little ninja runs best on 92+ also. I traded for an FZR600 at 3200 miles and felt like I lost 200 lbs and gained 20 HP but lost the cushy seat and pillow tank for long ride comfort.
