Post a pic of your latest purchase

Picked this up last night after someone decided to run over my KZ750

1984 Yamaha FJ600

They didn't back over it. It was parked in front of my house for about an hour and the guy putting in the lawn parked behind it. Then when he left he just straight ran it the hell over.

Went to put oil filter in GL and get some oil in her in preperation for flushing radiator and get her running again and......fucking #4 & #5 were not anywhere in my baggies and bins of stuff. Good thing is they cost me 5 whole bucks and the Local Honda dealer here is not filled with Douche bags so bonus, Seat was in stock, spring will arrive next week, so I can do some of the other things on the check list until I can put oil back in the ol girl.

If you have the square ended slides, you can 'heart' bore them so there is a lot more airflow at full throttle.
Basically open the top half of bore only to a 'square'
It operates completely 'stock' up to half throttle
Pull slide block first though and check just how thick it is, some have less material to play with
Has to be done in a mill, way too much work in a 4 jaw unless you have custom fittings to hold carb body
BTW, it is a bitch to get jetted right if you do it ;D

Here's pic of CB360 carb showing how Kei-Hin did it

Yep, I've got a pair from on VM30's off a CB450 that were modified that way.
Makes great sense, stock low speed but extra flow on top.

PeteGS - I've always wanted one of those (what is it?)

Mr.E - It's for the much modified Yamaha RZ that I am building.

It's a horn relay so I can get accurate battery voltage to my voltage monitor... a hugely expensive $5.95... haha

This should smooth out any nasty surprises from the front end.

So how does this work? Need a damper for my XS650 - could I adapt something like this?

Tim - I'm fairly sure they don't make one specifically for the XS650 but they are pretty easy to adapt. Some of the frame mounts bolt up and some need welding. Below is the set-up for my RZ Yamaha.

Some how she always gets the reliable new stuff (2011 Jeep Liberty) while I'm stuck with 79' CB's, 76 Dodge pick ups, etc...

Aw man, ain't THAT how it always works! The ex6.5 is a great bike all around. Hell...I'd love one for a daily hack with some good fun built in....
