Snagged a new silencer for the 1200 and a jet kit to go with it (not pictured cause..... well its just a jet kit)

Ordered me one of these simply 3 way switches to control the heated grips on my BMW. The little toggle switch I was running before was a pain in the ass so it had to go.

Good ol' Dime City Cycles - always have what you need.

I plan on installing a death ray to be activated by the Kill button.

Picked up a 1999 Honda CB400 Super Four Project Big 1.

It in an ex-Japan bike with 8800km on the clock.

Been looking for a Ducati single for a while . . . love a good swapmeet ;D

Narrow or wide case? Nice looking bike! I race a widecase 350 Duc...loads of fun. Plan on keeping it a race bike or converting it back to a street machine?

Knocked up some 3D models for new engine badges and tank badges, the engine badges turned up today after being 3D printed :) They are nice and smooth, the camera and the aluminium in the badges (to make them heat resistant) make them look a bit rough. Couldn't be happier with them they look even better in the flesh, now to paint and put on the engine I'm building for the CX :)

Hot Damn Steve, those are HOT!

Where and how did you get those done?

I modelled them in Sketchup and then sent the file off to Shapeways, they print them and post back to me :)

Here are the images of the models I made, tank badges still to come and are being done in a flexible smooth plastic, not as heat resistant but dont need to cope with engine temps like the engine badges but will flex so conform to the tanks curves.

And the engine one in the post above

Thanks, I love it.

Narrow- it is going to stay mostly as you see it. I can't even get my knees to bend far enough to work the controls. So, for display only ;)

Those badges are really cool!! It is amazing that they can 3D print in aluminum. I was not aware that they could 3D print in metals.
Great job!!!!

They are plastic with aluminium (cant bring myself to spell it the other way ;) ) powder in them. You can get them done in aluminium though just not shapeways yet.

Steve you could always sand cast a set by making a mold with the alumized plastic then you could polish them out.

They are looking at doing wax models as well soon, just for that :) Dont know how they'll ship though.

IIRC from years ago when I bought castings for a living the wax they use is a pretty high melting point, it is almost a plastic, but molton alloy will replace it, called lost wax casting. But something like your badge you can do at home in a small pot of sand and it would be re-usable over and over again. You press the badge in and pack it then carefully remove it and fill in voidwith melted alloy. Really cool and all you need is a small propane furnace and melting pot to do it, scrap alloy can be melted and poured. There is you tube out there for it.

Cheers
