I can even see a tan stripe on the fender that goes from the width of the fender down to a long skinny point. Wait, where have I seen that? Anyway, that would look wicked. Add nice contrast and break it up.

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Really would like to see some photoshop. Hey bro on those tank pads I'm pretty sure they are Honda. I bought them from a DTT member. I need to go back through my 219 pm messages. I know I really need to clean house. 219 pms is a little much but I hate to throw any thing out.

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Yeah man I wanna see some Photoshop too. I just don't have those skills. Maybe one of our cool board membebrs here will do it for me when I get some updated profile shots?!?!?!

Oh yeah man. If you can find out what they're off of that would help a lot. Let me know what you find brother?

I want to do the body work in an early honda green. Something like this:

If you just go to a paint shop they usually have books of vintage paint chips. that's how I found my color and I'm in love with it. Mine was called olive green metallic.

I like Docta Jones' green better than the honda one. Theres just no "pop" in the honda green.

Alright kids!

Time for another dose of bike day crack!

Sit down and have a cold one and tell me what you think of the progress today!

I started out early this morning working on the seat right after I got out of work. After a lot of beer, hiding from the rain, cursing and nasty hands, I finally got it done. It needs one more sand down with 400grit and another coat of filler primer followed by a sand down of 600 and she'll be ready for paint. Turned out well I think! fits the contour of the bike perfectly IMO.

After that I went to the shop and started fabricating the mounting rails for the seat onto the frame. I welded them in and then drilled holes for the seat to mount through. Then I carefully drilled the holed in the seat after marking and bolted her up. After that I did a lot of photo shoots to get some profile pictures. I'm trying to get ideas of how she looks with a rider on board, and I like it! I still have to find the tail light of choice that I'm gonna use and cut the hole out for that, but other than that it's golden. This will be a kick only bike, so I'll be using a small battery with switches to turn off all lights but the brake when not in use. I have to fab up a dash panel to accomplish that, bu one step at a time! When I was looking at the bike today I realized that the way i had the bottom rear fender mounts done, it was going to hit the chain when I installed it. So I took a tip from Troybilt and used a center bolt mount which clears the fender up on the sides. Works quite well. I'm trying to decide what to work on tomorrow.

Oh, FYI, I have a nice spade LED tail light with integrated turn signals for sale in the for sale section. Originally I was going to use a tag bracket mounted brake light, so this would be perfect, but now I am looking for a small round one to mount in the seat pan.

Well, here's some progress pics, so please let me know what you think!

Tomorrow I'll for sure finish the seat. I need to get the clip ons installed, and I may start on the "dash board". It's about time to finish cleaning and painting the motor as well so I can install it to work out the shift linkage and coil placement. I have a couple of Bosch blue VW coils that I got off of EvilBay that I'm going to try. If any of you can point me toward a nice 2- 2 1/2" round LED tail I would be greatly appreciative.

Let me know what you guys think!

Looks like the leaves are falling just as much as they are here in Guelph! Hurry and get that thing on the road before the snow!!

Seriously awesome though man... the rider stance looks unreal. you do some mighty fine work.

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Yeah Alex, this is my favorite time of the year. It makes me stoked just to get out and work with that nip in the air. I'm going as fast as I can, so we'll see how it goes! Work work work!

Man I really appreciate the props. It means a lot. And she is definitely sitting right. The stance feels perfect.

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Wow Kiley! That thing is wicked. I love it. Everything is perfect. The lines are perfect. the proportions are perfect. I love how the frame and seat end together. To top it off they end just before the rear axle and the fender stops just beyond that. For me, even with the mono, it has a vintage feel. Real eye candy for sure! Brother I'm at a loss for words!

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

yeah man, that bike needs a motoFiaccone exhaust for sure!

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Wow! this is going to be a great looking machine. ;D
Great profile shots, what were you looking to Photoshop?
Not a pro... but might be able to help.

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

I think you should do a MotoCzysz style front end. A big coil in the back, A big coil in the front! then you can have full adjust-ability!

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Thanks Troy!

Those are some amazing words man. I'm really glad you appreciate the ol girl so far. It's really starting to make itself an identity. I think you're right, the bike still feels vintage, which is good because I'm just not a modern bike kind of guy! I couldn't be happier with it so far. And don't worry, that SS exhaust is coming. Just getting some funds straight! Thanks for the words brother. Coming from you guys it is just beyond gratitude.

And man, spacejunk, thank you so much for that site....you're right, this site is loaded!

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Holy crap BC that's wicked! That's a beautiful piece of equipment! Are those one off forks?

And thank you as always Pete. I'm looking to get some photoshop paint scheme ideas...something to give me an idea of the color direction I want to go. PM me sometime and let me know if you can do that sort of thing....I can't tell you how much I'd appreciate that!

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Dude that bike is fargin amazing! When my bike gets running (as soon as my coil comes in the mail) I'd like to ride over from Gulf Shores and check that bad mother out in person! It's so aggresive! I love it dude!

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Man I'm all about it bro! We'll make a weekend out of it. Your'e coming to Barber's right dude? If so we'll talk about it there. Thanks for the props man!

Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360

Your beard helmet is good. Looks great! I like the richer honda green. Your style (hat, boots, beard helmet) says darker colours to me.
