Tonight in the garage I......

Took a while, and more than a few trips up and down the stairs but the Attic shop is open for business! The 350 is striped down to her britches and ready for the fun stuff. Time to get to work...

the only thing worse than working in a basement is in the attic!

shit that thing is huge though... NICE.

Tonight in the garage i got some. dreams do come true.

"i fucking love the smell of gasoline"....

yeh, she said that. im a happy man.

Tonight i did a tune up/oil change on on a gixxer, rebuilt a cr250f shock and finished off my tullamore dew.

I tried to seperate an r5 fork upper tube from its lower tube. F-R-O-Z-E-N, then I sat and stared at all the shit I have to do and drank a beer.

So, If you are using Polyester fiberglass resin and are looking for more work time before it kicks, do it in a cool area (Like a basement in the winter) We are talking in the area of 15C/ 59F to 20C/ 68F. If you leave it there and even colder, it will stay workable. You can easily work the air bubbles out. Then you can place said part (in this case a seat) over a heater vent in a bathroom with the fan on, it will kick the resin and all is good in the world.

I actually got to start working on my first bike last night in the garage. I am hooked. I didn't want to stop tearing it down. I am going to have to learn to be very patient for the next couple of months! The only thing holding me back are funds!

I got the R5 exhaust mounting brackets re-welded and welded a patch on a small hole. All squared away. looking to have that thing running very soon.

Finally got the gT750 timing set within 0.1mm on all three cylinders. That thing put up a fight. In teh end, I had to strip the DYNA pickups off the backing plate, brake up two of the holes and re-drill and tap them to get enough clearance.

Now I need to find that missing third intake rubber. I bought a set of new soft rubbers and one has run off to join the circus or is hiding in a warm spot. At 43 bucks a pop, I'll look a little longer before I get a replacement.

Lit a fire in the wood burner Straightened up a bit , unpacked my new jackstands then cracked a beer lit a cigar and tried to get the 350 running . put new throttle cable on now I can't get it to start . Ran decent on one carb before cable . Ah fuck it time for another beer .

Swapped out a Suzuki hub onto a 2.15" wide wheel after having the chrome blasted off the wheel. Had to wire wheel the rust from the spokes but got it laced up. Still needs trued, but the wheel bearings are bad in the hub. Got the plastic tank fitted on the other Zook frame, and just cleaned the garage for a little while.

Rich, i switched the springs in your gr/gs forks today. Ill get the cr forks done early next week

I also worked on my cb rims.

Thanks man! I really do appreciate you helping me out with everything. And I'm glad to NOT hear the springs are busted!

I remember you saying the cr60 tires may not fit in your tire machine - any problems with that?

Are you reading my mind?

Fitted the exhaust. I had planned on fitting a stock exhaust first to get baseline dyno results, but it kept fighting me, so it can wait its turn.

It's a GT750 two stroke triple and the exhaust is a Strader 3 into 1. Myth holds that 3 into 1 pipes kill top end on two strokes. Contemporary reports suggest that this pipe worked. Hope to get a definite answer soon.

finally built a work bench, put up some more lights, started ripping the 750 apart, and got the damn thing down to bare frame.. a lot more work to do then previously i thought..
