1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 10/1 S2000 START BUTTON AND VIDEO!!!)

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 5/18 Cafe Seat Build)

would you get a sticker made of that over the blue? Or just the Honda logo?

I like the stripes, not sure about it on blue though.

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 5/18 Cafe Seat Build)

The stripes will either be painted or pinstripe taped. It will be gloss black and metallic gold (which is hard to duplicate in mock-ups on a computer).

Blue and gold are a natural color combo. Hard to see colors on the computer, but I like it.

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 5/18 Cafe Seat Build)

UPDATE 1: Im keeping blue paint. Going to use a thick white stripe with offset gold stripes for my color scheme.

UPDATE 2: Made progress on the seat! Ill be taking it to the upholsterer tomorrow to get the seat covered. Seat will be attached 1.5" back onto the cowl using black snaps. There are 6 bolts total holding the cowl to the stock seat pan. 2ea machine screw snaps and 4ea allen head stainless bolts. That cowl isn't going anywhere.

Will post updates after seat is back from upholsterer. After seat is finished, tank/cowl is off to paint!

Neat work on the tail cover, takes a while to get everything symmetrical and smooth
Still didn't get to post office to weigh piston package, Monday for sure ;)

No worries, PJ! Im not going to do the engine build immediately, so it's not a huge rush!

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 5/31 Cafe Seat Build)

Did some powder coating! I picked up a nice little kit to get my feet wet for small parts. Craftsman powdercoat gun, Eastwood Powders, and a Farberware 8 slice toaster oven. Im REALLY pleased with the results.

Here's my setup:

Front half of caliper:

Far right is the brake fluid reservoir cap:

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 6/3 Powdercoating!!!!)

Tonight I went and picked the seat back up from the upholsterer and I LOVE it. I gave her a bunch of pictures that I had and basically told her that I wanted an OEM-style seat cover. I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out!!!

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 6/4 SEAT IS BACK!!!!)

That is factory Matt. Extremely well executed upholstery. Totally makes it. :D

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 6/4 SEAT IS BACK!!!!)

I don't like cafe seats at all...Yours is the single exception..Very well done...Looks comfortable and it is stylish. That rear with the snaps is the shiznit...

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 6/4 SEAT IS BACK!!!!)

Ahh - thanks for the kind words, fellas. I'm REALLY pleased with how it turned out. It's a slightly modified OEM-style seat which is the exact look Im going for. My vision is to build a factory 360 cafe, if they had made one. :)

If you could make that seat in quantity, I bet it would sell....Practical and looks great..... 8)

Re: 1976 Honda CB360T - Build Thread (Update 6/4 SEAT IS BACK!!!!)

If gas tanks were cheap enough, Id LOVE to. Seat pans aren't too expensive, but even a crappy tank goes for nearly $60-100 on fleabay.

Yeah, but maybe have the "owner" supply a seat base and Tank, then you are only charging for your artistic expertise.
