The stripes will either be painted or pinstripe taped. It will be gloss black and metallic gold (which is hard to duplicate in mock-ups on a computer).
UPDATE 1: Im keeping blue paint. Going to use a thick white stripe with offset gold stripes for my color scheme.
UPDATE 2: Made progress on the seat! Ill be taking it to the upholsterer tomorrow to get the seat covered. Seat will be attached 1.5" back onto the cowl using black snaps. There are 6 bolts total holding the cowl to the stock seat pan. 2ea machine screw snaps and 4ea allen head stainless bolts. That cowl isn't going anywhere.
Will post updates after seat is back from upholsterer. After seat is finished, tank/cowl is off to paint!
Neat work on the tail cover, takes a while to get everything symmetrical and smooth
Still didn't get to post office to weigh piston package, Monday for sure
Did some powder coating! I picked up a nice little kit to get my feet wet for small parts. Craftsman powdercoat gun, Eastwood Powders, and a Farberware 8 slice toaster oven. Im REALLY pleased with the results.
Tonight I went and picked the seat back up from the upholsterer and I LOVE it. I gave her a bunch of pictures that I had and basically told her that I wanted an OEM-style seat cover. I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out!!!
I don't like cafe seats at all...Yours is the single exception..Very well done...Looks comfortable and it is stylish. That rear with the snaps is the shiznit...
Ahh - thanks for the kind words, fellas. I'm REALLY pleased with how it turned out. It's a slightly modified OEM-style seat which is the exact look Im going for. My vision is to build a factory 360 cafe, if they had made one.
