Atleast I think so....Well hopefully the pictures will say it all. Im waiting on tires to be mounted so i decided to replace the seals while i wait.
So does this need to come out? If so it looks pretty beat up around there from the previous owner..there wasnt even a snap ring on it..

This is a step by step on how I've set my timing using a test light;
Points :
set at .014 (I took the cam seal bolt off to use the indicator mark for the points gap for fail safe) Is there a correct way to do this? Set points gap on compression stroke? Or is it all the same? I've noticed...
So long story short. I've read about this issue with trying to get an old twin started with a huge BANG and thats it and im very certain that im not 180 degrees off. I'll give some details to see if anyone can help me with this issue.
I've started my timing by setting both of the points to...
Hate to start another post but i need you guru's to help me out.
So I posted here about a month ago about not getting power to my harness, well part of my harness(coils, switches etc)
I ended up purchasing an untouched harness and now i still have some problems. With everything plugged in...
Working on getting an old 360 back on the road and im having some issues. Im not getting any power from the battery at all. It's a new battery that reads 12.9 on the multimeter so i know thats not the problem.
I've opened up the entire wiring harness to find the issue and im so lost:(...
Purchased an old 360 that wasnt running and I wanted to see if this looked correct? The blue plug was hooked up to the battery and im not sure if thats correct or not. Hard to search for it and i figured i would post a picture real quick to see. How do i run the positive terminal for my battery?
I'm looking into running an aftermarket battery on my CB360. My question is what is the lowest AMP i can run with stock electrics? I pretty much want to run the smallest battery I can...
Quick question!
For all of those who are running clip-ons are there any companies that sell clip ons with 'holes' in them to run the stock switches(wiring) through the bars?
The reason why I ask is because I'd love to run clip ons with the original switches and run the wiring through the bars...
So this is a new issue that just came up. I've been riding the bike just fine for a couple weeks before it started raining here in Oregon and now my bike wont start up after being in storage.
Prior to this when the bike was running i havent had any problems getting the bike to start so this...
NEW ISSUE!
So the problem with the points plate i still dont know why it only sits flush in one spot. I ended up getting the timing set by just 'forcing' it to sit flush by burring the screws in. Great!
So now the bike hauls ass when its cold but when it starts to warm up while riding...
So i've just reinstalled new points/condenser on my old 360 and now i cant get the timing right for my left cylinder. I need to turn the points plate COUNTER clockwise but im unable to move it for some reason. It has a verrry very small amount of movement to adjust and this is something that...
Here I am again!
I have a 360 motor in need of advice. I have 145psi on both cylinders, carbs have been cleaned and rebuilt with new gaskets, ignition timing is spot on. I'm having trouble getting the thing to actually kick over and run...
My poor little 76 Cj' keeps giving me problems.
Whenever i go to kick over the bike theres complete loss of compression. I can basically use my hand and turn over the motor or atleast thats what it feels like im doing? What the hell happened?! I had compression going over the timing and it...
I've recently installed a new clutch cable on my cj and now i can't get any kind of engagement with the clutch. As if im just hooked up to the clutch cover assembly and thats it. :( everything moves smoothly and i made sure to not lose the ball bearings when i put the cable back on. Any ideas?
Thought i'd share some pictures of my progress so far! Been piecing up this poor ol' cj for the last couple months in my living room. Still needs some work done but ill have all the time in the world once I'm done with classes this term. :)
She's a 76' CJ360 with 26k on the clock ;) Another...
So here's my problem. I have my breaker points set to the correct width for maximum clearance but everytime i go to set the left cylinder's timing when i have the test light connected the light never fully dies. It will stay dim as i crank the motor over then it will brighten up as i get...
Before I start I have to say how thankful i am of this forum. I'm in the process of piecing together my cj360 and for my first build ever on a motorcycle I would be no where without this forum!
So!
I have a problem with the rear brake panel. If you look at the diagram i posted, #8 whenever i...
