ffjmoore said:Breaking the motor down is pretty easy. To get the phillips screws out an impact driver is a must. If they still strip out usualy you can drill the head off and then once the rest of the screws are out and the cover is off the rest of the bolt will thread out by hand. As far as allen heads go i just went to a place online that sold ss bolts and ordered the ones i needed. It was cheaper then any kit. While you have it apart throw in a new piston and rings. They are so cheap its a shame not to while you have it apart. Good luck.
ffjmoore said:Exactly, how can you beet those prices. You might even find a big bore kit for it. Not sure how crazy you want to get with it.
revheadgl said:Hi,
The early 100's like yours and mine have a 14mm piston pin. If you want to go big bore you have 2 choices, pay megabucks for a powroll kit or use the 125 cylinder etc, but you also have to change the crankshaft to a 125 crank.
Aslo when you search on ebay for gaskets pistons etc, the Thailand sites are by far the cheapest option.
ffjmoore said:Yes and you need a few special tools to do it.
First tool is a special socket that takes the bolt off the oil pump.

The other is a flywheel puller. You can either buy a flywheel puller or i just bought a 14mm X 1.50 bolt and it worked just fine. You just thread it in until the flywheel pops off.
Thats the two parts that were the hardest to figure out and the rest is real easy.
ffjmoore said:You are correct. I took everything apart to clean and learn. Be sure you open up the oil pump. I have heard that these motors will run forever but that they have an issues getting oil to the cam sometimes.
Here is a link to my photobucket. it has a few more pics if that helps you any.
