Post a pic of your latest purchase

My new expansion chambers and oil plug arrived today. ;D

These are from Titan Performance, the same guys who made my rearsets. They're polished stainless steel and look great! MUCH lighter than the stock exhaust too. Can't wait to hear them.

I also got a new oil plug. The T500's stock oil filler plug is a rather cheesy rubber stopper. After loosing a plug (and coating the rear tire with oil) on one of their own bikes, the TP guys started selling their own machined aluminum plug.

There was a guy over at the Harley forums that bought both [Bell Custom 500 & Rockhard] and compared the two. He kept the Rockhard and sent the Bell back. I was going to order the Bell, but started reading about the Rockhard. The helmet is DOT and is maybe just a tiny bit smaller than the Bell. It is very high quality with leather trim, and satin lining. It also has a goggle keeper strap on the back, which the Bell does not have. I will give a review after it gets her this week.

my brother rocks a Bell 500... he loves it, i dont think it looks huge at all... and it is DOT approved... a huge group of my buddies rock the bitwell... they are not Dot approved but they are also not a novelty lid... hell i wear a vinatage bell helmet and the Bitwell has WAY more protection than my old lid does

definitely post up about it. I want to get a new helmet, DOT approved for sure, just nothing massive. No Biltwell for me, if I'm spending over $100 for a helmet it's got to be road legal in all states (even though I live in a state that doesn't require helmets at all.)

here is my brother rocking a stock 3/4 bell helmet... ill dig up the one of him in his bell 500 (much tighter of a fit)
sorry the vid was done with my cell after the tune was done on the chop

While I was researching helmets I came across a guy who had a Biltwell, and got concerned about the non-DOT aspect of the Biltwell. Well... He orders a Rockhard like I ordered and then posted pictures of himself in botht he Biltwell and the Rockhard. Honestly, the Rockhard looked smaller on the guys head than the Biltwell.

Here is the thread on the H-D forums where the guy compares the Rockhard to the Bell Custom 500:

thanks guys. Good to see the helmets in comparison. Now I just need to figure out what size will fit me. I don't have a big head like I thought I did. I wear a HCI helmet in a Medium, but just tried on a HJC helmet yesterday which was an XS and it fit a little tight, but I'm certain a small in that brand would work for me. I wear a 7 1/8 fitted hat, but I don't know the measurement around my head. I guess I'll just order a medium in the Rockhard and hope it fits right. But where the hell do I find them to order? The rockhard website is horrible.

You really ought to try one on. Helmet sizing can be just like clothing. I have helmets in both med and lg. Also, some brands fit different shaped noggins. I hated HJC (pressure points), but found KBC, Icon, and Shoei to fit just right and AGV somewhere in between.

yeah it would be nice if there was somewhere near me that had them in stock, but it's going to have to be a pay and gamble thing. I'm in no rush though as I have a good helmet, but I want a vintage looking one at some point.

ha ha ha i just hung up one of those little trick or treat pumpkin things on the front of my house... last year no one came to my house at all... they walked right past it with their kids... "that is wear the biker lives" type BS... we even put a huge bowl of candy in the drive and very few kids took any... my wife was devistated... i thought it was funny, every winter i snowblow every drive in my neighborhood when we get a big snow fall, i am the first they come to borrow tools or if they need help lifting someting. i have fixed changed the oil or helped get scratches out of countless cars... just kind of a slap in the face ya know... wifey thought it was cause we did not decorate... so i hung my pumpkin

A serious lack of tools has meant that I've been spending as much on those as I am the bike.....

Used, but works great. 20gal, 4hp, 135psi compressor. $60 from a WTB posting on CL.

Also picked up an air hose, some accessories and a dusting gun. I just need some vinyl tubing to complete my soda blasting setup. I know the compressor is a bit small, but it's going to have to work. I'm spending too much money on everything else.
