Yes, pods with stock carbs, I will probably change the carbs. Not sure about the chamber, it is supposed to be good for low to mid power and I think I would rather have top end power but they sound very nice so who knows. Do you have any advice for this triple?

Brian

They are a good pipe for the street if your rides are around town and not fanging it through the twisties. Jemco chambers make more top end. Carbs are OK but go up on the main jets to be safe. if you don't mind it looking non-original, upgrade the disks with a set of CBR600F3 disks and SV650 calipers. You need to make some adapters and fit steel hoses. I can chirp teh front wheel on mine with that set up.

When you rebuild the motor, port it. They are extremely mildly set up and can be made a lot more powerful. Stock is around 50 RWHP. Mine makes around 80 with stock carbs and UNI filters and is a blast to ride. There are a couple of GT forums and SUndial is probably the best in the US.

What are your plans for it?

I want to port it, get some 34mm Mikunis, change the seat, alloy rims. I have a Suzuki 1100 swingarm that I would like to put on it and if I could find a modern front end, I would like to swap that. I believe you can port it the same way as the Titan because I think they copied the cylinder layout, is this correct? I have the factory race specs and a couple others. My thinking is that since this is a bigger engine, I could port it more extremely to the Titan race specs and it would still be streetable, what do you think? Did you port yours? Sorry, I won't hijack any further.

Start a thread for it. We can continue the conversation over there.

I probably have about 50 good port combinations from sidecar racers and LSR bikes and road racers and street bikes.

34mm carbs hit the clutch cover and need to be tilted like a TR750 to clear. B U T Some old triple snowmobiles used zinc bodied 34mm carbs which are externally the same size as a VM30 or 32 and with new brass they fit nicely.
GSXR front end is a straight swap with all balls tapered rollers. Rear end can also be upgraded.

Nice motor - they make a spectacular 80's style sound of singles race bike - like a modern verision of a G50 or 7R

Got this loop off Ebay UK, £20 ($31) and free delivery (in UK).

I SWEAR this one is not my fault. The fellow I got the little red Ducati Scrambler Racer from texted me Monday and asked if I wanted to buy his other 250- a '66 Monza. I said no, that I had just bought another bike and simply could not take on another . . . that worked. The price was right and it is a pretty slick little machine. He restored this little guy 11 years ago and did a fantastic job.

Also, I am a sucker for alloy rims :D

Now just wait a gosh darned second. Next time someone calls you out of the blue and asks if you want to buy an awesome perfect BMW R60 or a Duc single, give them my name and number please :)

That narrowcase 250 would make a great little race bike...too bad its way to clean to cut up! Great score!!!!

Haha, yeah, the shop is full and the bike account empty . . . no more.

The narrow 250 does make a great race bike, from what I have heard ;)
