Re: Project UberNaked RD400 Brat Bike (Vid for KillerDwarf on 5)
This is going to be a slick build!! Can't wait to see it come together and a very cool color. I can't wait till I get my current project done so I can decimate the clean '76 rd 400 i have and the pair of '72 H2's. Two Strokes rock, especially when they're customized ;D
Re: Project DwarfKiller RD400 Brat Bike (Vid for KillerDwarf on 5)
Oh man... This is some of the best entertainment a guy could ask for... ha ha ha. Keep the updates comin DB. This certainly seems like its going to be cool. I really dig the wheels, BUT maybe the blue on the wheels as well may be a hair much. Are you going to have an accent color?
Re: Project DwarfKiller RD400 Brat Bike (Vid for KillerDwarf on 5)
I ran outta paint. Rats. I've decided to leave all the tabs on for now. I'm going to run side covers because with the new ignition I need to run a battery.

Sorry, but I have to say renaming the thread is a bit much. The friendly and cooperative atmosphere of this site is one of the things that's great about it. As much as I think it was wrong for Killerdwarf to belittle your approach, he is still entitled to his opinion just the same as everyone else. Freedom is freedom. Granted this site is pretty much targeted at customizing, so Killerdwarf if you're still on here you'll have to accept the fact that you're going to see some pics and videos that will have you waking up in cold sweats in the middle of the night.
Awesome DB, I just saw the vid and caught up from there! I love the reservoir dogs reenactment! Great job! KD is such a douche bag...he even solidified it more by commenting and attempting to bash everyone and the site.....yet he is still lurking and posting. Guess even an old prude talentless ass needs to see some creativity from time to time!

Woah there sunshine. We don't need to start flaming each other just because we disagree. Let's please try to avoid personal attacks. I have no idea who KD is or what his experience is, and even if he feels slighted, let's avoid a flame war please.
I also hate to cut up perfectly good bikes which is why all my stock bikes end up being rebuilt and sold and all my customs started off as bitzas or basket cases. It's easier for me to sleep at night that way. And to be honest, the Last model RD400 was IMHO one of the best looking bikes Yamaha made. Neither of the 400F's I had were stock but they came as piles of parts. The D was stock and stayed that way and teh E was a mess so it got a flush fit gas cap and RD500 alloy footpeg hangers and Swarbrick pipes etc.
What anyone chooses to do to a bike is their choice and opinions on style will always vary - and that's good. Variety is good. Style and good workmanship are are though.
So as they say, don't f..k it up. ;D Do a great job with it.

Sounds fair to me. Back to bikes. What pipes are you fitting on this one - Stock or something tasty? Swarbricks look seriously mean. They are quite short and a large diameter and they work well with a ported motor with larger carbs. Hint hint.
